rjR Posted October 29, 2013 Report Posted October 29, 2013 Apparently you have previous experience! The long throated monster in the backgrouund still looks viable; too. I sometimes have 2 saws setup at the same time. The scond is a 16" not a ?? like your 2nd. The 788 is a nice saw. You should enjoy it! I did make a different lamp mount-- put it on the stand and very easily moved even from side to side. My lamp is one of the long reach spring armed type-- with a flourescent type bulb.. Good light-- doesn't get hot and lasts well. I broke the original bulb in the DW lamp the first week. Quote
DWSUDEKUM Posted October 29, 2013 Report Posted October 29, 2013 Congratulations. May you make a ton of saw dust this year. DW Quote

Tdub4ever Posted October 29, 2013 Author Report Posted October 29, 2013 Thanks! @rjR, that's a 24" 2 speed Craftsman. And yes, it's a monster! I have that one and a 16" Ryobi. The Ryobi parts have been trash lately and the Craftsman only has snail and lightning speeds. So I got ol' yeller. Test cut a couple pieces, not gonna get down till tomorrow. The best part of it is, I won't have to share my radio with the neighbors any more! It's a quiet saw! keefie 1 Quote

Changing rom on e hole to the next is automatic and not a bother, after only a short time of using. same saw that i have. I know someone that has had one for years and and enever used it. I am going to offer him $200 for it.. Hope he bites. I would love to have a second one. You rock.. got make the sawdust pile grow. Dick heppnerguy Quote
Tdub4ever Posted October 29, 2013 Author Report Posted October 29, 2013 Started cutting this morning, a potrait from Charles Dearing. I have a question, hoping it's just because it's new and I'm not familar with it. While I'm cutting, off and on there is a rattle in the housing for the upper arm. It's not very loud but it does sound like something is lose or coming lose. Is this something the saw does till it is broke in or is it worth getting it looked at? Quote
keefie Posted October 29, 2013 Report Posted October 29, 2013 Thanks! @rjR, that's a 24" 2 speed Craftsman. And yes, it's a monster! I have that one and a 16" Ryobi. With 2 other saws still working you don't need that horrible old yellow thing - just send it on to me I'll pay the postage!!! Enjoy your new saw you will love it. Quote
heppnerguy Posted October 30, 2013 Report Posted October 30, 2013 sometimes your saw might make a lot of noise depending on the wood and the blade. I sometimes just try a different blade and all the noise stops. I hope that helps...It could be as simple as that... Dick heppnerguy Quote
