wombatie Posted March 16, 2014 Report Posted March 16, 2014 Actually its not my idea, I read it on another forum. We all become a close family on forums like this and when one of us are missing even if its for a short time we notice their absence. So if something happens to one of us how do the rest of our friends know? Perhaps it would be a good idea if we told the people close to us that we would like them to contact the forum/forums and let you all know. What do you think???????????? Fay Prozora Posted March 16, 2014 Report Posted March 16, 2014 I think it is a great idea. when I had my heart surgery, my sister and I were members of the same forum and it was a sewing forum. Well people were wondering how I was doing during and after surgery and I had no computer access so she posted on that forum all about my progress and all and next thing I knew she had printed out messages that people were sending for me and such. It was very touching to know that people that I've never met face to face were so kind and all those kind words,, well you have no idea how much that meant to me. My family of course knew what was going on and where I was since they took me to Seattle to have the surgery done. Well any way, yes I do think it is a great idea. You can get so used to another person's posts and then when they don't post any more or very little, you wonder how they are... Great idea indeed... Fay wombatie and Wilson's Woodworking 2 Quote

Marg Good day Marg, that's a good Idea, It will let the good folks here know when something is amiss with any of our friends. You never know when something will occur. As I found out. I can tell you without a doubt, it is wonderfully cheering when you get all these good folks posting to see how you are. Lovely folks you've never seen or spoken to face to face, and from all corners of the world. It's just like neighbors looking out for you. Go for it Marg. Rob Roy. May I suggest how you implement the idea should be a separate topic acquiring feedback from members. For example adding a contact person in a members profile. wombatie 1 Quote

I know where you're coming from Roly - but it really suits me fine. Most people seem to think that I shirk the responsibility, but truthfully I lost the lure of money when I hit 35. It seems to be all people live for these days. Such a shame really. Phantom Scroller 1 Quote
