scrolled raised relief elephant

I have been playing with ,an Idea ,before going crazy with good wood ,I thought I'd try a sample piece ,out of some planing recycled fir I had .I went small for the trial ,finished 5"x7".

That is good you layer it then carved it down great idea, thanks for showing.

Great job on that.  pushing out the layers and then shaping them surely assists in getting that 3d feel.  Thanks for sharing this with us.

You have to really tip toe ,as there is limited material for shaping ,especially as the front is larger than the back,I learned a lot and it was fun a fun change of pace! I thought it came out pretty good ,for a trial pc.

Worked out pretty good ,May have to expand on the idea .saves a lot of wood ,and space ,the effect ,I like!
