  13. Hi I have the back of my Dewalt scroll saw up on blocks of wood to lower the front end of it Cause i'm a short lady. And I have a magnify light i use I have it mounted to a piece of wood drilled a hole in the piece of wood so that the metal post on the lamp would fit down in the hole i don't have the base that comes with the magnify lamps. so i made a make shift one that works for me.I clamp it to the underside of the Dewalt scrollsaw stand. I have a foot switch also on my scroll saw it is a lifesaver when you need to stop your scroll saw if you break a blade or need to stop scroll saw quickly. I use plastic credit cards Or Wal-mart gift cards for my zero turning hole plug on the saw table where the blade comes up through the table.I just tape it down on the table top after I poke a hole in the middle of the card from the saw blade to come up through.
  14. Ok is there program i can install on my computer so that i can open GIF files? right Now Adobe will not open them for me.
  15. I'm doing yard art for spring time for my in laws. They used to live on farm in country and they used to raise all kinds of different chickens And ducks. So they now live in town in trailer park so i figure it is time that the chickens and ducks come to live in their yard. I think it will make their place more enjoyable for them. they miss living in the country. So some of the country is going to come and live in their yard. cheap chickens and ducks they will not have to feed them.
  16. Travis what about the most strangest things you have in your shop? Hey maybe this can be the next post of pictures of our shops.Cause I have some of the strangest things in my shop. But it is cause it is my shop, my rules, my tools and i can put anything i want in my shop.
  17. Yes i have big plans well at least they are to me.I'm starting to cut my items I 'm going to Enter in this years Jasper county fair this summer. this is my 2nd year of entering my scroll saw items i have cut out.
  18. Yes I do this to the backs of scroll saw blades. But I use a small file I just lay the file on it's side on the top of the saw table right behind the saw blade that is installed in my Dewalt. You have to hold on to the file of course. and step on foot pedal to run the blade up and down that has been installed in the saw. it removed the straight edges of the back of the blade and makes it rounded so it is easlier for me to turn sharp corners in my project I'm cutting out. I have a finishing stone from Sloan's wood shop it has a wooden handle. I have used it few times But I seem to like the small hand file best.
  19. Hey has anyone heard if another scroll saw company is going to take over or buy the scroll saws and the parts they have for Hawk Scroll saws. Bcause I have a older 1985 model # 220-3 that is belt driven. And i was wondering what do i do if i ever need parts for this scroll saw?
  20. Travis I sent you a site that sell Baby soda bottle tubes i use them they are great they don't crack or chip or anything they are very tough tubes. They are really cool check them out I love mine and i have bought tubes from sloans and from a woodworkers site but these baby soda bottles are the best. And they come with screw on caps too. you may want to post the website after you have a look at them.
  21. Hey Travis I post some more new pictures of some wooden spoons i just finished them up onThursday and some toys I have made for my 3 year old grandson.
  22. I'm making my grandkids some toys and i want to make the wheels to put on them so they can roll. I want to make the wheels 1 & 1/4 in. around solid sides then i would drill a 1/4 in. hole in the wheel side for the dowel i want to use for the axle. what can i use to make good round wheels? Would a hole saw work for making the wheels or is there something else out there tool wise i could use? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you for your Time.
  23. This is the Dewalt scroll saw I have, the man that owned it before me decided to paint it this color to match the rest of his wood working Equipment that he had in his wood shop. I would have redone the paint job on it , if it hadn't not been professionally done. But the color doesn't make the saw cut any different it just looks different from the Bright Yellow Dewalt scroll saws. And this model is a Type 1 Not a type 2 Dewalt scroll saw Which I was very please to know Before I won it off a eBay auction.
  24. No Travis I didn't use any spacers I'm not sure what to use for them or how to place them on the manrel But I have learned Valuable Lessons from making a sanding mop. one never make it bigger then 1 to 2 in.in diameter. cause it is to hard on your Dremel tool if that is what you use for sanding equiment. And 2nd make sure you wear safety glasses to protect eyes from flying debri. And 3rd wear a dust mask.I'm still not done messing with making one of these cause it does do a great job on sanding in weird areas like wooden spoon bowl areas.Plus it isn't as hard on you to use it as using sand paper by hand.
  25. Ok members I got the sanding mop made and used it too it worked great But the only problom is it didn't last to long. it did a great job on the wooden spoon I used it on .Just make sure you wear eye protection cause the strand of the cloth backing come off and flys around and into your eyes like lint. And do not make them any bigger then a Quarter or a 5o cent piece cause I made another sanding mop bigger did like the one Steve Good made was alittle to big for the dremel and it made the dremel over heat and started to smoke I unplugged it fast and sit it out side my wood shop to cool down.Brought it in the house had My husband Rick help me and we checked the dremel out to see if the bushes were Ok in the tool, they were fine. it just got to hot for the size of the second sanding mop I made. it wasn't as big as the one steve Good has in his video. But i did the same design of the sand paper. iI cut pieces about 2in x 3in long and then folded them in half and poked a finishing nail through the sand paper to make a center hole then i took a pr of scissors to cut strips in the pieces of sand paper up to the middle about where i poked the hole in the center of it to mount them on a mandrel. it would probably work fine if the one i made wasn't to big. I was using it on a flex shaft unit also. So that probably didn't help it at all. To much pull on Dremel tool motor. We have plugged my Dremel tool in since i brought it into the house & the unit runs fine so far, the real test will be to try a carving burr in it to do some carving on a wooden spoon. to see if I did any major damage to the unit.
