  1. I still use a block of wood to hold the arm up. I reach for it out of habit now. I release the tension with one hand and grab the block with the other.

  4. I am giving a class on intarsia at my local woodcraft, and this is the project the class will be making. So I thought I better do one as a sample. It is made from - cherry, aspen, elm, aromatic red cedar, and wenge. The pattern is by Judy Gale Roberts.
  5. good job. I don't like them either and only use them when I have to. Which isn't very often.

  11. depends on what I'm cutting. but normally 2-3 hours. Unless it starts getting to me, making mistakes I will take a break and work on something else.
  12. congrats. It's nice to see some recognition for a scroller. All the cuttings looked great. Can you tell me who the pattern designer is or where you got the pattern for the Mount Rushmore cutting?

  22. very nice looking chunk of wood. it would make a very nice looking bowl.
  23. are they double edged? unless you dulled, chipped both side you should be able to flip them over and have a new edge.
