  3. Nice job on the cutting, and I really like that pattern. Fran
  4. Oh, wow, Linda. That is really nice. I have never seen a quarter display like this one before. You done a great job. Fran
  5. No big plans this year. Been waiting on my nephew to show up with his bro in law since before Christmas to put better wiring out to the shop. When they do may get a small ac unit to go in there, and a better heater. But I really enjoyed reading Christina's post. Reminded me of when I was small and we raised and canned or put into the freezer almost everything we ate. Never made the cheese tho, but that sounds intresting. Good ole days, but a lot of work. Fran
  6. Nice cutting and pattern. Fran
  7. Very nice job, Mike. I have been wanting to try some coasters, but didn't know how to seal them. The resin should work good. Fran
  8. Really nice work, Jo. That would make some nice Christmas presents. Fran
  9. Good work on all three of them. But I like the police badge best. Fran

    name this saw

Surely that is not what you cut your finger on????? Fran
  11. So, Blame, are you gonna tell us how that happened so we don't do the same thing. I know we can get hurt in some of the wierdest of ways. The plastic thingy that covers the drive belt in my old planer got pushed into the belt. It was melting and burning, I turned the planer off and went to lift it up, and burned the whole end of my finger. Had dripping hot plastic on it. Fran
  12. Great job on the pattern and the cutting Fran
  13. I think I have missed saying Welcome to the group to some people. So, now I will say it Welcome, and I know you will enjoy it here. Fran

    Hello

Hey, Jo, Sure glad you joined us here. A lot of really nice people here and I know you will enjoy it as much as I have. Fran
  15. I looked at your album, Mal. And the first pic. the bulldog was so realistic that I was wondering if you were into intarsia or taxidermy. All the dogs are very good. Would like to know what woods you used, exp. the round frame. Fran

    Camping

Boy, Christina, now that is "roughing it" I wouldn't have slept any either, but not because of fishing. Too many "crawly" things to get into your sleeping bag. lol I like to fish also, but not like my mom. She one said, she would rather fish than eat. If the cork bobbled once an hour, she would stay all day. Fran
  17. Travis, these are no's 53,54,55. I have sold a few, but mainly give them away. The last one I had made, I gave to the neighbor guy for helping me get my new planer from the truck to inside my shop. Fran
  18. Golly, Clayton, you are so talented, and clever. Yep, I bet your dad was really pleased with it. Fran
  19. Real good job on the cutting and especially the patterns. The first thing I noticed on the little girls pictures was the eyes. You did really good on them. I think with pattern making or painting the eyes have to be the hardest to capture. Fran
  20. Pat, That turned out great. I never got around to making this one, but what I did do was take that bottom cardinal and made a magnet with it. Fran
  21. Right now it is three more of the angels like I have in my album. Just have to trim the wings to fit the body and then the backers. Just waiting for the weather to warm back up a bit to finish them. Fran
  22. I tried it once using coarse sandpaper, and it seemed to help a little. But I just forget to do it. Fran
  23. Travis, I have never used a "sanding sealer", but back when I was doing a lot of painting on pine, I used the clear shellac. It dries very fast and after a light sanding leaves the wood soooo smooth. It also seems to prevent the rosin from seeping through. A lot of times I would use Kiltz (sp) as it would protect from the rosin also. I am intrested in what others have to say about the sanding sealer. Fran
  24. Good luck with your show and be sure to let us know how it turns out. Fran
  25. Both are very beautiful. Fran
