  1. Very nice, she's sure to appreciate all of the time and effort you put into making her such a nice personal gift. And I'm sorry to say but I have to disagree with what AmazingKevin had to say about asking your customers to make you a good offer to own a piece of your work. I've found through experience that if you let your customers set the price, you get next to nothing offered as they think they can get it for very little. Then when you let them know the actual price that you are asking for they usually think that they are being overcharged. Don't forget we now live in the dollar store era, so set your price and put it on what your selling and stick to it, if your work is good enough and it looks like it is, you should be able to get what your asking for. I do! Len
  2. Dan,that's a beautiful sled and what a unique idea to put the year in the runners. It's not a bit of wonder that they sold so well, one reason is because they look so good and the other is because they were a good price. Thanks for sharing this with us,I'm always interested in how well other people do with their sales, and what their prices are like.Your price is the same as I charged for the ones that I made and I didn't put the year in the runners so maybe a couple more dollars, but you don't want to price yourself out of range of what people will pay for an ornament either. 3. DW it's amazing to think that you cut this puzzle freehand. It's not something that I would ever attempt, the only thing that I would end up with is high blood pressure and a bunch of little pieces of wood that are garbage. I can cut fine but I have to have a pattern to follow, my imagination or whatever is needed to be able to end up with most of the pieces being the same size just don't work! Thanks for sharing this with us. Len
  4. DW, whoever gets one of these for Christmas should be more than happy to get it, if not I know of a home that you could send them to and they would be well looked after, and put on display.lol The puzzles are super and the boxes to store them in are very nice also. What size are they in inches? Me and that metric stuff don't really get along. Thanks for sharing these puzzles with us Len
  5. You did good DW, they all look great, I like the way that they look different by just changing the type of wood. Len
  6. Way to go Dan! Len
  7. The Scrollers Cafe, what had happened at the scrollers cafe is that we had to get a new service provider a while back. And if you were an active member "visiting and commenting" on what was being offered and particapaiting in the forums you were in automatically and if you weren't particapaiting and didn't visit very often then you would have missed out on the notices that warned us of the switch and also told us what we had to do to get back on and particiapate in the forums. It wasn't a big deal but you had to be checking out the site about every three days or so just to keep up to the news and announcements. It's a great site and they run a tight ship and keep everytrhing running smoothly. Gayle is a sweetheart that would do anything that she could to help you out, and her patterns, well lets just say that they leave nothing to be desired and they are as close to being perfect as you'll ever get. 8. That's a great bit of cutting Handi, and I have to agree with Vector01 about it being on display all year. Thanks for sharing it with us. Len
  9. I'm in, the info e-mail has been sent. Len
  10. I have two identical saws and have them in two separate workshops, one is in my small basement workshop and I use it whenever there isn't a fire on in my other workshop which isn't all that big 16'x24'. After there is a little more work done on my separete workshop I'll be moving my house saw out to there also. Len
  11. It looks great for a first turning, afterall you can't expect to be a super turner instantly. I think that you are taking the proper approach to learning to turn all of the little ins and outs before proceeding with larger objects, especially the pens because if you make one little mistake the pen cylinder is ruined and you have to purchase another to try again, which can lead to a greater expense. so practice lots and you will be amazed at how fast you will pick it up. You should also be cautioned though because woodturning is about as addictive scrollsawing is. So have fun and keep your edges sharp and thanks for showing this small pill box to us. Len
  12. I am fortunate enough to have two shops, a small on in the basement of our house and a new workshop in our backyard. I have a scrollsaw for each shop so weather isn't a factor nor is the cold. Len
