  8. Hello All, I was reading the post about blades and about who likes to use certain blades and noticed a lot of people liked flying Dutchman. I thought I would order some from mikes workshop. BUT I had a problem Now I use Olsen Blades because they have a chart that tells which blades are good for each kind of wood and plastic ETC... So when I was looking at Fying Dutchman blades I would have to cross reference with the Olsen chart. Boy what a pain. Emailed Mike and he sent me to his blade choice site but I was looking for a chart. Has any one have a chart that they have made up. thanks for your help

  13. Yes indeed I got my new Excalibur 21" it is nice But I had the blade come loose twice at the bottom blade holder so I have to work on that, I am not sure if it is me or the machine. I thought the upper arm held itself up when you raised it. So when you raise the arm and holding the arm with one hand and have a wood project in the other how do you get the blade in the hole? thanks for all the advise
  14. I just renewed my scroll saw work shop magazine I wish I could get a mag every month. Is there any other mags that are good that would come in place of the skipped month of scroll saw mag? Thanks
  15. I wanted a new scroll saw and had enough money to buy a Excalibur EX 21" but My money is hard to come by so I was really considering a 788 and saving some cash. 18. Hello All, Well I was over at EBay and saw a (TD Industrial Professional 16†Variable speed Scroll Saw) I never heard of a TD Ind. Are they any good? I was also looking for a new Delta scroll saw and having a hard time finding them did Delta stop making them? My son made a comment that he wish he had a scroll saw and so I was going to buy him a Delta. That's what I have and I have had good luck with it.
  19. Good point..... I am not blaming any one for my stupidity except my self.
  20. good advise! thanks for sharing that story
  21. Hello All, Well I went and did the ultimate no no After hearing about you guys take off the hold down foot on your scroll saw and watching Rick Hutcheson video's tips on scroll sawing I did the same thing AND yes on the tip of my middle finger and yep I got cut. Not bad just enough to bleed a little and it going to be sore. like a bad paper cut. after 6 years my first time, I am sure it won't be my last. "GOT BAND AIDS" LOL
  22. I went to the big blue box store and bought a can of the spray poly too, After I put on the stain I let it sit up for a few minuets and blew out all the cut out areas with my air compressor andwiped it down with a rag.
  23. Yeah, My son just got married and I am going to make them a hope chest and they are expecting a baby in Oct so a big toy box for Grammy and Poppy can fill it with toys LOL
  24. Are you asking how to keep the stain and Poly in the cut out areas? or how to keep it from building up? To get stain or poly into those tight spots I will modify a brush to fit into them by cutting to the shape and size I want. If I am trying to get wet build up out of tight areas you can try those cheap model paint brushes that come to a fine point. I hope I answered the question you were trying to ask. "My brain is mush today so I may have missed the boat some how. Yes To keep out the build up it seems with those small brushes that you use on models cars
  25. Hello, I just finished a project that is 3/4 in thick.
