  1. Welcome to the Village. We'd love to see some of you work. It may spark ideas. Dan
  2. Also, use quality blades. I like Olson Precision Ground and Flying Dutchman Ultra Reverse blades. Both of these cut great with very little drift. Dan
  3. Hey Gary, Welcome to the site. I too wish I'd have started many moons ago. It's great therapy for us old farts, though. I started with a Craftsman and was hooked right away. I have since upgraded but would never give up the experience I had with the Craftsman. Dan
  4. More shop time and yard work. Dan
  5. I also wax my table as needed. Something else that seems to help is to sand the table. I have a Delta P-20 and I thought the top was smooth. After some sawdust accumulates on the table, I realized that the dust particles were so small that they filled in some small grooves in the table. That made the wood slide less effectively. After sanding and waxing, I was amazed at the difference it made. Dan
  6. With all the rain we've had lately all I seem to do is cut grass. Maybe I'll blow it off this weekend and make some dust instead. Dan
  7. Welcome aboard Cherie! You have some great looking ornaments on your site. Since you are a design artist, I would venture to say that those are you own design. Dan

    Hello

Welcome to the village John. Sorry to hear about your health problems, but I find woodworking great therapy for whatever ails you. What kind of woodworking did you do in the past? Dan
  9. Clyde, I think it looks great. The only tip I have is to frame it if you can find a nice frame for it. Dan
  10. Great job! The frames really make your work stand out. Dan
  11. Now that's scary! I remember the 80's and 90's pretty well, it's the 60's and 70's I have troubles with. Dan
  12. Wow! Great work on the clocks. You sure do have a lot of patience.
  13. Welcome to the Village, Bill. You now have the dream job (retirement) I'm looking forward to. Dan
  14. John, Just want to let you know that you did spark my interest. I bought a piece of chrome braided hose yesterday. I lost a piece of my dremel cutoff wheel so I had to use other means of cutting the braiding...what a pain. I painted the tube which is drying right now. Tomorrow I'll epoxy the braid to the tube and cast it this weekend in clear epoxy. I'll probably try tinting it. Thanks for sharing your work. Dan
  15. Although I've done very few intarsia projects, I have a vision of a scene with hidden images. It would be about 3 feet by 5 feet. I don't know if I'll ever get to it. Dan
