  1. Cool!
  2. Jim, Flocking is very tiny bits of fiber. A lot of folks use it for lining boxes to make it look like felt. I've used ultra-fine glitter in some pen inlays and just put a drop or two of thin CA. The CA will fill in around the glitter and adhere it to the wood. It works well for thin items, so on a pen like what you did, you would have to fill it about 1/3 full then add a drop or two of CA. after the CA sets (a few minutes) repeat two more times. Did you fill the cross with anything? Epoxy or glue? I bought some polymer clay but haven't use it yet. It's supposed to be pretty nice because it doesn't shrink much if at all when it hardens. But you have to harden it in an over. Dan
  3. Now you're talking! Great job. What did you fill it with? If you use a contrasting color next time the cross will really jump out.
  4. Nice job!
  5. Great job! I always like the nature scenes. I may have to do that one. Thanks for sharing. Dan
  6. Just want to add to what everyone else said. Get one with the option to top or bottom feed the blade. I use to bottom feed with my Craftsman, but when my eyesight started getting bad I switched over to another machine and found top feeding is much easier and just as quick. You also might want to see if there's anyone else in your neck of the woods where you can try their saw and get a feel for it. Dan
  7. I like the fishing plaques. Good luck with you show. I just did one today. It started out slow but did almost as well as the pre-Christmas shows I did last year. I was also invited to a show in two weeks. Sure feels good.
  8. Nice work Kris. I made the .50 cal pen last year and I know what you mean about the wobble. I was going to try reenforcing some of its guts with epoxy but someone swiped it. It's a novelty item and I don't think I'll make any more unless someone asks. I believe the brass comes with no coating but for the kit price, I think it's a pretty good deal. Dan
  9. Creapy sign...I love it! I also like the eyes.

    Great job Clayton!
  11. YAHOO!!! Way to go Mike!
  12. Dean, A #5 blade on 1/4" ply can be tough to avoid the chips. I'd go with a #3. Sometimes the reverse teeth will cause the chip-out. Also, if you by cheap plywood, you'll see more chips or tears. Dan
  13. Great find for a great price! I use mine a lot. Noisy? You bet. If you have a dust/chip port on it, use it. I connect mine to the shop vac otherwise, as Kevin said, chips everywhere. My next major purchase will be a dust collector.
  14. Those things can be hard on the blades. Some of the glue makes it down right tough. But, those are the perfect size for coasters, ornaments, and trivets.
  15. Looks more like a GREAT day. Nice job Kevin!
  16. Moved my saw into the basement for the heat two winters ago and now have th benefit of our central air. All the other tools are in the garage with no a/c.
  17. Very ingenious. I think the LED and smoke would be cool.
  18. Wow! Great job John.
  19. Where are you selling them (craft show, online)? I did a couple of shows last year and some things that I thought would sell (because I really liked them) didn't sell. I don't know if it was because of the prices or not. On the other hand, I had some ornaments priced at $6 and sold them really fast. That was at the first show. At the second show, I sold the same ornaments for $8 each and sold out of them really fast. I guess my point is, if something sells quickly, maybe consider raising your price on that item and lower prices on other items. I don't keep track of my hours, but I know I've given away a few things for next to nothing, but I feel I've made up for it on other items. Dan
  20. I've had some luck putting clear packing tape over the pattern. It cuts a bit cooler. I have the same problem with bloodwood so I just take my time.
  21. Great job! I love it.
  22. Awesome work Sue. I really love the dragon.
  23. Hey Kevin, it's a power tool. Who cares why you got it or what you are going to use it for. LOL. Like everyone else said, great for making scraps useable.
  24. Nice work and congrats!
  25. I also finished some pen display boxes over the weekend. Tonight I planted some pepper and tomato seeds. I'm still working my $#%**@ taxes. Dan
