  1. Ditto what Travis said. Poly Clay is probably the easiest and least messy way to do it. Using PR will work, but you probably want to sand and finish the wood before you pour the PR. The PR will cure to a nice glass-like finish, but if you sand the PR it will take a lot of work to get it looking good again.
  2. Graeat work!
  3. Yes, the masking tape works great. I did a test last year and found that I can still cut with a high blade speed and there was absolutely no melting.
  4. Sled ornaments. I only have 12 left and three more shows to do. I hope to sell about 20 at each show.

Ben, I'm still trying to find out who made the pattern. Not sure where I got it.
  6. When Spring hits, it's time to get the garden and yard ready. So, I do little scrolling in the Spring and Summer months. Usually I get started in August and really hit it hard September through January.
  7. I like 11 x 14 frames and use matting. The final size of the pattern to fit is 8 x 10.

I'm liking these. I think the eagle will compliment the wolf. I'm think of doing a moose next. I'm trying to find out where I got the pattern from. If anyone knows, please tell me. Thanks for looking.
  9. Haha!! Great quote. That would make a great word art plaque.
  10. I usually try to stand up and stretch after 10 - 15 minutes behind the scroll saw. Yesterday, I sat for over an hour and boy I needed to stretch. How about you? Do you stretch or do something else while scrolling to keep from getting fatigued?
  11. If you are only doing one side, maybe a small piece of double-sided tape to hold it in place.
  12. Looking good Kevin. I can tell you've been very busy.

    Wolf Head

I got this idea from another forum. The wof head is from Steve Good. To my surprise the frame came out exactly as planned.
  14. Awesome job and congrats on the award.
  15. Great work! Love the details.
  16. Last year I decided to make some unfinished, stand-up Christmas trees from 1/8' plywood. The idea is to sell them at craft shows to help parents keep their kids interested in crafts. That was a customer's idea and I thought it was great. Now, my wife says turkeys would be a great idea too. Now sure why I never come up with ideas, but I said, let's give it a try. Below is the result of her idea. I will put the pattern in the pattern area if anyone is interested.
  17. Those look great! What kind of wood is it?
  18. Great job on all of them. I really love the clock.
  19. Also, remove the plastic cover under the table that covers the lower arm and take a look. If all looks good there, do like Kevin suggests and check the back. I had a loose nut on the rod and it sounded like the saw was going to self-destruct. If the nut is loose, put some Locktite on it and tighten it. Let us know what fixes it so we can all learn a little something.
  20. I think it came out really well. Thanks for serving!
  21. Good job on the cutting! I like the bard background too. I'll have to try that sometime.
  22. Looks great Clayton! The colors look dead on, too.

Excellent job Gator! I'm really liking the scenery fretwork.
  24. I'm a guy. Scroll saw is a power tool. Need I say more?
  25. That's on my to-do list. Be sure to show WIP.
