    new clock

Very nice. All the lines look so crisp.
  2. Nice looking work Nick. The colors add a little pop. Oh, and that yellow thing...please send it back to Northern KY. It's been missing for almost a week now.
  3. Wonderful job! I'm putting that one on my to-do list.
  4. Nice work again Kevin. Keep it up.
  5. Great job. Looks like very smooth cuts.
  6. Looks good. Be sure to wear a dust mask when cutting that stuff.
  7. Looking good. It's never too early to get started on Christmas items.
  8. Nice job again Kevin.
  9. Excellent work!
  10. Congrats Kevin!
  11. Can you stay within a blade's width to either side of the line? if you can, you should have no troubles making bowls. The sanding will take a little longer but you can still do it. As for cutting on the lines, just take your time. Hopefully you are not using spiral blades. That would definitely be harder to control for bowls.
  12. Great job! The colors are perfect.
  13. I started looking up some info on CPSIA and came across this article in Wikipedia of all places: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Consumer_Product_Safety_Improvement_Act. Although it is not up to date, there is some good background info in the article. [On my soap box] Although the issue of child safety is not the only topic in the bill, I will not market any of my items as children's toys for now. If I make any wooden cars or trains, these will be sold as novelty items for adults. I will let the parents decide how they use them. Our government is putting its hands into the pockets of middle-class America and taking our rights and freedoms. The more regulations our government creates that control our actions, the more socialist our government becomes. [Off my soap box]
  14. Now, Gary, don't put ideas in my head.
  15. ...Arrowheads. I had some small pieces of spalted maple sitting around and couldn't toss them so I made some arrowheads. It took about 30 minutes to cut, shape, and apply the finish on all 8 of these. They are 2" and 2-1/2" long. I think I'll make a bunch more from other types of wood and put them in a $1 box at the next craft show. I'll also give them away to the kids that behave while visiting the booth.
  16. Nice looking set up and great work. I stopped doing spring shows for now because I did two last year and just made the table money on one and lost a couple $$ on the other. The shows I did were just before mother's day, and although I thought I had some nice things for ladies, I didn't have anything that said "Mom" except a couple of key chains, which I sold. Like Travis said, if you have a few small dollar items, you may get a few extra bucks for the table cost. I'm not big on selling jewelry, but I did have some small pieces of leftover olive wood and made some crosses. I plan to make these into earrings and necklaces.

    Walnut Owl

I finished this today. It's cut from 3/4" walnut and is 18" x 11". I used the spindle sander and scalloped the edges to make it look more framed. I also took the torch to the edges. Four coats of poly as a finish. Thanks for looking.
  18. Wow! That's quite a bit of work. Great to you behind the saw again.
  19. Dude, you sound organized. I'm a sitter, too. My Delta is on a stand and I have a stool that I sit on. I have a magnifying lamp hooked to a shelf nearby. My blades are in blade holders on the side of the saw stand. Everything else is on my workbench. I also have a box fan and filter next to the saw.
  20. Sure is a lot. Hope you did some stack cutting on them. They look great though.
  21. I always enjoyed working with wood. About 12 years ago, my wife wanted to get me something for Christmas, knew I liked tools, and bought me a scroll saw. I didn't know what to do with it, so I picked up my first woodworking magazine...Scroll Saw Woodworking and Crafts.
  22. Looks great Jim. I'm sure she will love it. Post again after it's painted.

    Owl

Finally finished this one. Well, almost. I have a little more cleaning up then I'll have to make a frame. I'm happy with it. I made the pattern from a video clip. I found a few bugs in the pattern I made so I hope to be able to share it next week if anyone is interested. About 305 cuts. I used a #1 spiral on all cuts except the 3 large areas. I think it took about 3 or 4 hours to cut. I burned most of the fuzzies off but see I missed a few. Comments/critiques welcome.
  24. Hey Marg, is clockwise south of the equator the same as clockwise up north?
  25. Welcome back, pal. I'm sure it will all come back soon. You're not going to disappear any time soon are you? This place just isn't the same without you.
