As long as his fridge is well stocked I'll keep an eye on him. Travis, have a great time. Wish I were going.

Does the Dewalt 788 allow top and bottom feed? What year did the series 2 come out? Thanks.

  7. Welcome to The Village John. I know you'll find the answers you're looking for, unfortunately I don't own a Hawk. What kind d of cutting do you do...fretwork, puzzles?
  8. I use BLO/mineral spirit mixed 50/50. Can be handled in a day but takes a few more to cure. I also found that sanding to 220 grit before the finish provides a better sheen in the finished product.

  10. (if I had 3 thumbs). Great pattern and cutting.
  11. Shellac,as stated above.

Backlit is a great idea. I'll have to look into that. Thanks!
  14. This is a Steve Good pattern. It was easy and fun to make. I think the 3/4" standoffs are too long. I'd suggest making them 1/2". The background is just 1/2" BB ply stained cherry. I painted the edge black.
  15. Fantastic! Possibly your best work yet.

    Bird House

I met Gerald several years ago then found out he lives 1/10th of a mile from me. We talked a few weeks ago and found out he has a hobby... he catches moles. I invited him over and he caught 3 moles in 4 days. Our yard has been mole-free for over 2 weeks now. I made him a Bluebird house to show my appreciation. It's Eastern red cedar.
  17. I was bored so I cut these for our park's educators. I plan on making many more as they are fun. Made of 3/4" poplar, cut with #3 and #5 pegas blades, and finished with 50/50 blo/ms.
  18. Nice! Reminders me of Old Man and The Sea.
  19. Awesome! Very good detail. I love the look of the tree.
  20. I have had that happen to me also. I found the I just missed a step. It helps to make a cheat sheet of the steps and keep it handy.
  21. I have had it happen but I'm not sure if grain direction (with or across) makes a difference. I us Ally sand all my boards first and that reduces the problem a lot.
  22. Definitely whatever speed you feel comfortable with. As you can tell by the posts there are many variables in the speed you choose, but ultimately it's your choice.
  23. Beautiful bowl. Great work.
  24. Wow! Another guy named Jerry posted the same thing. They say everyone has a twin. I think we found yours. Good work and great gesture.
  25. Wow! Someone's been busy. Great work.
