  7. Hi Karen, don't get discouraged .I use all woods and have the same problem, but work with it.The reason the wood splits on the back is because your pushing the wood out with the drill bit.A DRILL PRESS WILL PUSH THE WOOD OUT FASTER THAN ANYTHING BECAUSE OF LEVERAGE.To compensate for this place a piece of wood behind what your drilling .This will stop the piece from splintering as there is a wall of wood to slow down the wood from being pushed out.i never use this method but learned of it here in the village.I'm to gung hoo to let little things slow me down. So in recorse i drill very so to let the drill bit do the work it's supposed to do.So drill slow and when you feel the drill start to go thru slow down even more .New drill bits cut very nice and keeps splintering down to a minimum.Don't give up and wait for wood.Use what you got and enjoy scrolling.Hope this keeps you scrolling!
  8. muscleman 17 inch.jpg[/attachment]CHANGED THE STAND MOUNT SO IT LOOKS BETTER
  9. Greatest piece of plywood cut i've ever seen!.I love how the grain goes across the frame.Your work is excellant and the choice of patterns is perfect.Compliments to both of you.
  10. Nice one DW! Looks so much like the santas i used to paint on the windows of stores for years and years.Guess ill try one in wood this year! thank DW for the inspiration!
  11. I'm very impressed Michael ! The wood you chose is a hard wood and with all i know about that particuler piece you used it's tough to cut with any blade. My hat is off to you for your efforts in cutting such a tough piece as this very hard wood. You'll get extra money for hard wood projects so keep that in mind if you should sell .I save the dove cut out and use as small a drill bit so i don't damage the dove and set it half way back in and glue.
  12. Thse were interesting cut out.very fluild cuttings .handsome bodys and the vitamin store one is dylan.hope i get some sales from that one.A customer walked up and seen it and wanted a jason taller so there you have it.advertizing is everything!Dylan's face required a #65 drill bit to handle the #2/0 blade from mikes.1/4 ply backing board 2 ply .just have to scroll what i see!dylAN is 10.75 tall and jason is 12'' tall

  17. KARDAR i've airbrush since 1991,for copy paper sized projects any airbrush will give satisfactory results.Doing the side of a house is possiable too with the el cheapo but takes alot longer and the paints need to be thinned down like milk or water.I wish i had a place to set back up as airbrushed scroll saw projects would sell so much easyer .I've thousands of dollars of airbrush books and accssories and enough paint to last a life time. You make me cringe at the though of not being able to beautyfie my projects with the air brush.Hope this info help you.I used 30 pounds of air exclusively so you could run off a spare tire for air supply, you'll just need the proper fittings.they also sell canned air 16oz.size.I've made several quite compressors from refrigeraton compressors. They will pump up 400 pounds easy but finding a tank to hold that pressure is expensive.I used shut off switchs to regulate the pounds saved and used freon 30 pound tanks.with brazed on fittings .They have a factory blow pressure of 150 pounds so keep your pressure under that and your fine.
  18. hAD TO DO THIS ONE .IT REMINDED ME OF THE SHELLS I'D DONE EARLYER.tHIS PROJECT TOOK SOMEWHERE ABOUT AN HOUR,MAYBE A LITTLE MORE I LOST TRACK AS I GOT INTERUPTED.iT'S ONLY ONE PIECE BUT PICTURES TAKEN WITH SEVERAL DIFFERANT COLORED PAPER BACKGROUNDS JUST FOR REFERANCE.tHANKS BIRCHBARK ,JUST WHAT I NEEDED TO GET IRON SHARPENS IRON OFF MY MIND,LOL
  19. This should be enough ,not 50 but close.

  23. This one is in 1/4" plywood of my friend,he rides around with maranatha on the front of his bike.Free advertizing for me,lol,I redid the stand and cut off the wood beneth the tires and used paneling nais and wood glue to lower the picture right on top of the stand.the picture of said work is'nt going to happen as the custumer has the finished modified piece with him.Sometimes i forget all i know in a rush ,just to get the product out the door, lol Just can't scroll enough!thats my stand behind him bare. :)if anybody knows why my printer does'nt give the right colors i'd love that info.just edited a reverse veiw and mounted correctly differant photo of friend on bike .this one has the tires fixed on the stand with paper clips drilled in the stand and bike tires on the thin 1/4" wood.colors are true now to as the printer needed the nozzels cleaned automatically in the epson workforce printer by choseing the maitainance from the menu.
