i asked my cabinet making friend what he wants for his old, but new looking air tank that's a stand up unit.He tells me take it so i will. i'll connect a refrigerator compressor to it on top and have silent air and won't upset the neighbors with all the racket they make.I have 4 air compressors that all work but the shut off regulators are no good on two of them .I hate the noise they make .Use a nail gun a couple of shots and here's the noise again.I have another friend that is throwing out his working ice machine that sits out side of a gas station .but have to wait to get it .It's a big compressor and 110 volt .I had to wait to get the two cylinder air compressor form the pay air machine as they got a new one.So two months later i own that one And i mounted it on a air tank that had a compressor that only pumped up a little air so i took off the old one and replaced it with the dual cylinder one,but it hammar,s too, to much noise.So i plug it in wait till it builds up and unplug it.

Larry, i did three coat of the can of stuff in the picture and still you see it' not like it should be ,drys to fast .Maybe cause its an old used can 1/2 full.I like to see it look its best but there's a limit as to how much you have to play with something.The finish laps ,If a spot is light it shows even though you brushed it.I'll bet the cans lost its umph!My friend just gave me a can of satin rater than gloss .i'll try that tomorrow as my car battery died tonight 2nd. battery in two years and both new

You know how many times i check that? Too many ,Marge,lol.I've done lots of clocks and the time spent on them will never be caught up in the pay for them.Way to many hours of detailed this and that.And a $10.00 clock and just change the face of it is way over three hours to get it right as an example.To many modifications to get it all back together again.Things have to be very thin for everything to go back together.Doing the face in mica in the shape of a saw blade will work for one.Sometimes you have to get a clock mechanism that has more of a shaft protruding to go with 1/8 thin wood to work.Always something you didn't count on.

That's great looking piece of wood Thsat one great looking project on an equally great piece of wood Two pea's in a pod!Been years since i seen one of these .you let me know how old i am,lol

I finally got a round toit and was having a bad day so my lingering project got my time to take my mind off of things..This clock is 10"x 8 " aromatic cedar and maybe mahogany?I downloaded the Hebrew face and scaled it up or down to fit a el cheapo clock from the thrift store,I didn't want to clear coat as from my last experience was not good,but did it anyway lolTwo coats full of tiny bubbles.i forgot to heat gun the bubbles out.Wood is 1" thick and the stand 1.5 " thick I band sawed the base as it would not fit in the scroll saw.I then belt sanded it and broke a belt. I used Rolys trick with a flip flop on the belt to clean it .boy does that work good ...thank you ROLY.I'll make a flutter wheel now that i have cloth sand paper to use for sanding delicate fret work/A scroll reverse #12 blade was used to cut the star of david. The bigger of te two clocks is finally assembled and is 20" tall with hebrew numbers a star of david design Will try to clear coat that one soon .Im just happy to get it all finalized and hopefully out the door .not much room in here.

Oh no, Marge, I went crazy doing this to try and drum up handyman work in the beginning of the recession.Well over 800 of them and just one letter took as long to do as a scroll sawed name nowadays.Hand detailed painting takes forever.I put my best foot forward to try to make it and make it i did but not from the names.

Hi Scott ,Welcome ,I too have both dewalts but never tryed the type 2 it's sitting on the shelve as a back up but have two more saws as a back up .Never too many back up's right,lol I tryed to find the difference in the two dewalts but didn't find anything.Yeah finding time to scroll that is the question.I'm bored not finding the perfect pattern to do.You and me both on the patterning,Just to much to remember for me ,but once you know you know.Keep coming back to see what you would have missed. I can't go a day with out coming here.My free wood supply is overwhelming and today i spent time and organized it all again .It was getting soaked from holes in my three tarps but now it should be ok .Always something to keep you from scrolling

Hi Dan, I really need to cut this, but my shower, sink and toilets have inflatable plugs in them as our drainfeild is full , clogged .The landlady pumped out the septic tank and two days later it's loaded up again so I have no shower. I cut some off of the thick plastic on my 10" table saw and man is it messy so with no shower i can't get clean . The plastic dust sticks to everything, no just brushing it off. The landlady gave me a window to put my work for sale in and they wanted clear plastic so that's as far as i got.There's 8 people washing clothes in the main house using the toilets and washing dishes so waters running running running.I put plugs in my side as i don't want to deal with an overflow on my side .I'm on the end of the line in the effeincey.It's lower than the house i guess a garage conversion.It will be two months before the city is ready for her to connect to the sewer.As always nothings easy in my life. But it beats being in the car!
