I think the old addage "He who dies with the most tools -- wins" is in the back of most of our minds. How ever, I'm cheep and try to make as much as I can. I'm in the middle of making my own thickness sander.
I too am doing my first show in Nov and as it's billed as a "Christmas Craft Bazzar" most of what I'll be taking will be ornaments and Christmas table dec like nativity scenes and trivits.
I watch for old funiture all the time. Someone remodeled their bathroom a few yr back and through out their old cabinets. My shop storage cabinets now. A few months ago found a broken chesterdrawers made from formica covered mdf. Made great extension wings for my table saw.
I know what you are going through as my heart surgery was May 24th and the Dr just cleared me for light work last week. Still no heavy lifting or using the router but can use my scroll saw.
2 days of cutting and sanding on my first bowl and when I put it in the bowl vise to clamp the bottom to the sides I used to much pressure and it snapped on both ends.
