    I'll just post this initially as a tease, then we can discuss if this is a valid/safe upgrade. Those of you that know what this is might be a little shocked. I'm outright excited at the possibilities. Seen another post on knobs here recently that got me thinking. ------Randy

    I had to chuckle a little at your spelling of bowl :-) I think you will find Carole Rothmans book very well written with helpful illustrations. Seems like Fox Chapel does a good job on most of their books. --------Randy

    For wood, I don't know if it matters much where you purchase. For my coin cutting, the #72 bits from Mikes Woodshop were worthless, though I'm sure they are fine for wood. The bits from Sloans are much more durable and the best for this that I have found so far, plus Sloans is great to work with. Out of curiosity, I put just put in order for some bits from Bens to try. Jerry was right about needing the center punch for metal, but missed the most important item, and that is oil. I messed up more than a few coins before I figured it out. I use a dremel press with the little collet they sell. Works great. The punch idea also works good for wandering bits on wood. ---------Randy

    You may have already done this already, but if the fuse isn't blown, my first troubleshooting step would be to run a short wire and totally bypass the switch. ------------Randy

    This is a current model without the dust collection and black paint. Some folks hate the little holes for dust collection so would actually prefer this model over the table with the holes. It's currently listed at $430, and looks to be in a Pawn shop of some sort. They might come down further. ---------Randy

    I joined a very long time ago, but didn't initially spend enough time here to realize how vibrant a community it is. I'm not giving up on the scrollsawer.com community and am actually putting a lot of effort into helping to resolve their issues. But the experience over here has it's own unique charm and many new/different people to meet and enjoy. I'm very impressed overall and can't believe I didn't see this community for what it was on my first pass. As far as forum loyalty, no one said we could just have one :-) As far as coins, I don't want to wear the folks here out, but here is a new and recent bronze Greek coin just a little smaller than a half dollar: Only bad thing, detail is so fine, it is hard to see with the naked eye without holding it up to a light source, which makes is a little impractical to wear. To tie this in to the main topic here, notice the picture was taken in front of "Windows 10" :-) --------Randy

    Upgraded from Windows 8, New Edge browser is a little flakey, but IE 11 is still available, and I use Chrome so that was totally unaffected. The upgrade process for me was without issue. --------Randy
