    thinking the basswood was 1" maybe a little thinner but not by much. Thank you to everyone who shared their kind words and has helped me along the way.

    No hardly ever stack cut. It was requested from someone. I had no intention of cutting it.

    I usually sell my 8 by 10 portraits from patterns that may take a few hours to cut anywhere from $25 to $35, (unframed). But have sold some pieces for $65. They took 6 to 8 hours to cut. For example the turkey sold for $65 and the deer for $30.

    Hmmm, well this all sounds like Good advice. But sounds like alot of work for this small timer. Sounds like it will be a natural finish for all my Baltic Birch work. Thanks gentlemen for your time and advise.

    Do you have a brand name you use for a pre stain conditioner?

    Don't know if there is a Blicks art supply store near you, they carry a real nice velvet poster board. That's not what they call it. It has some fancy name. It measures 12" by 24" I think and cost about $8.00 They may even have a Web site to order from. Hope this helps.

    I am sure this has been covered before, but I sick it up and ask anyways. The best way to finish Baltic Birch scroll work. I was told use a he'll stain and it works great, until it comes to all the nooks and crannies where you can't wipe off the stain. On the flip side oil based turns out splotchy "so I hear". Any advise?

    I like to apply pattern with adhesive then stack pieces and use packing tape and wrap all the pieces together covering the front and back. No problems so far.

    Yeah I was hoping someone could tell me how kit works. I know b.b. is not easy to stain. Comes out blotchy with the tight grain and everything.
