Here is a teaser of one of the patterns you will find in the 'Ornaments for Charity' booklet when it is put together. I cut this from New Guinea Walnut finished with BLO.

Cutting Laminated Plywood with a Scroll Saw

Are you referring to the plywood that has a veneer of a different timber on the outside? If so, I havent scrolled it before, but cant see there being any issues with it. -

The choice is up to you, some use black felt or velvet or other material, some paint the backing board black, I prefer to use a sheet of black art paper for mine.
