  1. Thanks for all your hard work, it's greatly appreciated! I am currently working on a website, with a gallery so I know what a pain it can be. I am a computer geek, been doing it since '83, I also work in IT, however, I don't do much with building websites. Again, I want to say thanks for all that you do for the scroll saw community. Steven
  2. Hello from Central Ohio. The folks here are very friendly and helpful. I have not used this software, but I have been told it's a great piece of software for working on Portraits. It's called Coyote Stencil Shop, . Steven
  3. Great job on both projects. I really like the bear one, I will be working on a polar bear project for my lady in the near future, the pattern was made for me by a fellow member here Steven
  4. Thanks all for the kind words. I am seeing progress in my works, I have been trying different techniques, with every project. I have dated all my projects so far, as well as taken pictures. I can't express in words, how much fun, and relaxing this hobby is. Steven
  5. Good Day Folks! What a difference, some practice will do. I have been learning a lot thanks to the kind folks here. When I first got my saw, I have never did any kind of woodworking. I am having a lot of fun learning, and experimenting. As you can see from the 2 pictures below, the difference between my first attempt, and several projects later. I have also been experimenting with different ways of finishing my projects. The key is, I am having a lot of fun, and I am finding this hobby very relaxing. Steven

  13. WOW! That is amazing! I also like to build dioramas - I wish I could express in words how much I like your display. This has inspired me to do a winter train scene. Thanks so much for sharing.
  14. Now that's cool! Thanks for sharing, I look forward to your posts, they inspire my to get out to the shop and do some cutting. Steven
  15. I have the DW788 - I only have had time to cut a few projects. The saw is great, and I have been learning a lot, thanks to the kind folks on this and other forums. Steven
  16. Good Day All! I was out shopping, and saw these Halloween Sprinkle Lab Kits, they were on clearance for $1, and I thought to myself, these would make nice blade holders. I emptied the contents, and glued them together.
  17. Bummer deal! You recommended Grizzly to me, and they have been great! I been happy with my Dewalt, but looking at the Delta, it does look like the same saw. Sorry about your luck with your saws. What is the price difference between the Delta and Dewalt? Steven
  18. WOW, Thank you very much, what parts do I cut? Would you suggest a #3 FD blade? Sorry for the noob questions, I am still learning this wonderful hobby. I want to say thanks again for the fast reply, and the time you took to make this for me. I am slowly learning Corel Draw, I hoping to get good enough, so I will be able to help others in making patterns and make some of my own to share. Steven
  19. Good Day Folks, In another post, a website was posted with royalty free clip art. I found the attached picture, and I would like to make it into a gift. My lady loves polar bears, and I think it would make a nice surprise. Now to my questions, how do I go about cutting this type of picture? Would I use a wood burner for the nose area and inside lines? What thickness of wood and blade size? So far all my cuts have been basic outlines, and I would like to step up to the next 'level". Thanks in advance for any guidance, Steven
  20. Great site! Thanks for posting. Steven
  21. Thanks everyone for the replies and comments. I am/was using a cheaper packing tape. A few things I have learned - 1) I need to use a thicker paper, the spray glue I am using "bleeds" through the paper, distorting the pattern a little. 2) I need to purchase a better quilaty tape. 3) I need to let the glue dry a bit, and secure the tape better before cutting. Thanks Again All, Steven
  22. Wish I had the skills to make a basket like that, but I bought it with the flowers to go with the name plate I cut
  23. Good Day All! Here is my latest cut. I decided I would surprise my lady this morning with some flowers and name plate. The basket and flowers were purchased, I made the name plate. The more I cut, the more I am learning. I am having an issue with the tape coming lose, and sawdust getting between the tape and pattern, thus not being able to see the lines. I am starting to see some improvement, with my cuts, and learning from my "mistakes". The main point is I am having a lot of fun! Steven
  24. LOL that's what I was thinking when I first looked at it. If you would not have mentioned "boo-boo" I would have thought, it was suppose to be like that. Thanks for sharing. Steven
  25. Looks great, I can't wait to try a portrait. Thank you for sharing. Steven
