  1. Welcome to the Village! Hope to see you aroud the forums! Chance
  2. How about taking a shoe box cover, glueing or screwiing it to the retangle end of the wet vac hose and then mounting it to the bottom of the cutting plate with some good old duct tape? It should improve the capture rate and work as a funnel for anything that may fall around the outside of where just the rectangle hose end would sit and you can cut a slot in the box to compensate for the area that the saw blade goes through. Just a thought Chance (Don't have time, or my saw to try it yet, but wanted to throw it out there and see what sticks.) Or, I just found this, seems someone makes a plastic version. just my luck on the invention wheel... day late many dollars short
  3. Nice! Grats on the new saw! Question, what type of light is that on the flex arm? Chance

  14. Very nice work!
  15. Might want to take a look around on Google first. I purchased the Saw and got the worklight, stand, blades and free ship all for the same price. The model was a DeWalt DW788PK. The store had a good base price and then I found a free ship coupon on google. Make sure you check out the on line coupons for whatever store you buy it from. Chance
  16. You could always add a speed controler unit. Here's one I have played around with in the past. Mounted it right to the side of a bench unit that had a failed internal speed control. Was a lot cheaper than the stock MFG replacement. Just have to make sure that the electrical specs match up for what you need. http://www.ecrater.com/p/5157248/router ... power-tool Just a thought Chance
  17. Welcome to the Village Scrollergirl! Bunch of good, helpful folks here. I am new to this forum as well, but have already met many seasoned pros and received their wisdom and assistance when I was in need. I am a local Texan as well, from a ways North of Dallas, so you are not the only one here who tends to say "howdy" or refer to someone having "horse sense". I hope that you will grace us with your presence in the forums and allow us to view some of your finished crafts. You will find that many here share the knowledge of their trade as well as helpful suggestions and ideas for all to improve our craft. Have a good evening Ma'am. Chance
  18. Very nice work.... how did you make them? Did you glue up multiple boards and core cut them or what? Freehand design or from a pattern? Thanks Chance
  19. Greetings Marco, Welcome to the Village. Look forward to seeing you in the forums. It's been many years since I was in Germany. Beautiful place, wish i could return. Post up some photos of the area that you live and the alps. All we get to see here in Texas is flat lands. (no mountains) Chance
  20. I had to pause for a moment and remember some distant places that I had not thought about in a very long time. Thank you. Very nice job. Chance
  21. Very nice work. She'll love it. Chance
  22. Which do you perfer in Foot Operated Speed Controls otherwise known as foot pedals, the On / Off ones OR the speed control ones? Thinking about getting one. Does anyone have Pros and Cons for either? Thanks in advance Chance
  23. Hi Kevin, Maybe I misspoke somewhere, sometimes I do that typing to fast and not re-reading what I wrote. No, I do not have a DW788 yet.... I ordered it and am currently awaiting for it to arrive at my doorstep here in North Texas. I am hoping it will be here before the end of the week. Chance
  24. Understood Orges, and a point well made. Being as rusty and out of the loop as I have been, I could not offer any detailed patterns unless I first worked them out in wood and proved to at least myself they where of sound quality and worthy effort. Maybe next year I might be comfortable enough with my knowledge base to partake in this event without feeling so unsure of my skill level...... naaaaaw, my ADD would not allow that, I'd still work it first just so I knew that I did Chance
  25. Thank you all for your comments. I am a bit surprised that some other items have not made the list yet. Maybe these fall more into comfort than critical, but I like comfort when I plan to spend most of my weekend working on a pattern. Therefore I would consider the following as must haves OR must soon aquire as well. adjustable magnifying light 4" or better Speed control foot pedal Good overhead shop lights Comfortable chair or stool oscillating fan, heater, etc for some comfort when the weather is not so agreeable outside Stereo or radio... I tend to steer clear of MPS players with headphones or earbuds when working around power tools. I like to hear everything going on around me. Nice to haves: A good large number wall clock.... time can really get away from you when your in the zone. What else am I missing? Chance
