  1. Thanks Jim ... glad you think I did your pattern justice.
  2. I have been bitten by the Intarsia bug !!!!! Started at the first of the year and can't seem to stop !!! I had in my mind to do a Victorian boot and could not find a pattern ... Jim Finn added a sketch to another forum request for a shoe and thanks Jim it was just what I was looking for. Showing a picture of the finished shoe and my wall of projects.

Great cutting ... love the piece of wood ........
  4. How could anyone give a bad revue or even suggest something different ?? What an amazing job. Seems to be no limit of what can be done with a piece of wood.
  5. I opened my store in Sept. 2012. I've had 3 sales which isn't great but with the economy like it is you can't ask for too much. What I like most about it is, it is a place for people to go to, to see what type of woodworking I do. When you say you do woodworking people think big stuff, and when you say scroll saw, they have no idea of what you are talking about. The cost of doing business on Etsy is minimal. Need to find time to take pictures and add more to the site. http://www.etsy.com/shop/DivineWoodenDesigns
  6. Taking off the EZ lift may just be a coincidence. I was having a lot of problems with tension and ended up taking the top off by the on/off switch and found that the bolt was loose. That lasted for awhile and then had to take it apart and tighten the tension rod and now the tension is great. Now at 3.5 to 4 using a 1 to 3 blade. Rick at scrollsaws.com has a section on the tune up of the saw. If you start noticing the tension slipping again you may want to try this.
  7. Thank goodness ... nothing !!!!! I have been working for the last 2 months for a show this weekend and I am finally finished !!!!!! Can't wait until it's all over with and I can sit back and relax a bit. At least if sales aren't good I will have plenty of inventory to fall back on for Christmas gifts.
  8. Sloan's has Baltic Birch ply ... service is great ..... http://www.sloanswoodshop.com/

  15. I was given a scroll saw in Oct. and after researching the sites I found the tutorials on Gimp. This is the first portrait I did using what I learned. This is a portrait of my sister and my brother-in-law ( he is the one that gave me the saw ). I cannot thank you enough Travis for the effort you put into the tutorials to allow me the ability to do this.
  16. Thanks for the wonderful words and support. Will need help with learning how to download pics to the site. Am going thru the tutorials on how to use Inkscape. A lot of info to put into this old head !!! Again thanks.
  17. I have always wanted to do some type of woodworking. I had to wait until I was a great grandmother to be able to see my dream come true. Thanks to my brother in law, I now have a scroll saw and numerous other shop tools. I have only been using the scroll saw for a couple of months and have loved every minute of it. I have gone so far as to tear apart a pallet to have wood to use until I could order some, but have actually made so nice things out of the wood. I've learned a lot of things by reading forums and watching video's. Thanks for having me here, and I am sure I will have a lot of questions and need a lot of advise along the way.
