  1. This sander has been a great addition to the shop. I have been using the spindle and belt sander on an intarsia project and it has made things a lot easier. I also used the small spindle to do some touch up sanding on the praying hands fretwork I did. Very happy with this sander.
  2. Thanks for posting this Roly. I am getting ready to do a stack cut of a 10" saw blade with a Bass in it and need to have some accurate drill holes. I just dug out the old 4" drill press.
  3. Kevin go to www.ocoochhardwoods.com and you can see everything you need.
  4. Glad this helped some others out. The only place close to me is Woodcraft and they are close to three times what I payed at Ocooch
  5. Very nice Roly. I love those bowls.
  6. Very nice Ron. Looks like a lot of small cuts in there.
  7. Glad everything was good with your heart. Happy New Year.
  8. Very nice. Great job on the pattern and cutting.
  9. For fretwork I frame them. I am lucky the place I work at used to make frames and doesn't any more but still has all the tools and supplies. We can make any frame any size for $5 so it wouldn't make sense for me not to frame them. I am working on an intarsia now that is three roses. My wife wants them put in a shadow box.
  10. Thanks guys. Larry I'm lucky we have a frame shop at work. It has the saw, joiner and mat cutter. I can make any frame any size for $5. Don I bought the pattern at www.scrollersawer.com.
  11. I made the frame today and it is now finished. Here it is.
  12. Very nice gator. That looks indestructible.
  13. I bought this sander last weekend. So far I have used it to fit some pieces together on an intarsia I am working on and on 1/4" plywood to smooth some uneven edges. It made the intarsia easy and quick to fit together. It also did a great job on the 1/4" plywood. It is fairly quiet and I can see where this tool will get a lot of use. The $199 price at Home Depot seems like a good price. The paperwork that comes with the sander says it has a lifetime warranty on everything including the motor. Seems like a quality tool at a good price.
  14. Kevin it's not so much my body but my hands. I have Raynaud's Syndrome and it's very hard to keep my hands warm when I'm in the cold. I just o down and cut until I can't take any more. LOL
  15. Looks good gator.
  16. Yes it's a DeWalt 788. Clayton I love the new saw. It will take a little getting used to being different than the old Ryobi. I have it turned down below half and get no vibration and it's not bolted down. Also very quiet. Fish I think you are right. Once it warms up the wife won't see me until it starts to get cold again.
  17. I went down to the garage today and cut this out. Man was it cold down there.
  18. Thanks everybody.
  19. Mrs Claus gave me a new DeWalt DW 788 for Christmas. Of course I had to set it up and use it already. Very nice. Very happy.
  20. I bought a Rigid EB 4424 oscillating spindle sander today. It has all the spindles and also a 4" by 24" belt sander. I played with it a little and it's very quiet. I will give a better review after I give it a work out.
  21. I did my first stack cut today. I stacked three pieces of 1/4" plywood and cut out a rose. After looking at a few of the close spots I noticed the bottom piece had been cut through. I stuck a speed square on the table and found the table and blade weren't square. On the positive side the wife still liked the two I was going to throw away and it was an easy quick pattern to cut so it didn't take me hours to find out I screwed up. The table and blade are square now.
  22. I'm happy to hear somebody was able to take advantage of that deal. Congrats.
  23. Yea that's a great price. If I had the money I would buy one myself.
  24. Amazon has them right now for $329.99 or including the stand and light for $433.70.
  25. I just wanted to let everybody know about my experience with Ocooch hardwoods. I ordered six different woods from them. When they came I had one that I didn't know what it was. It had no color and figured it had to be cherry or bloodwood. I called and talked to them on the phone and we figured it was cherry. I told him it was ok and he said he would send me one with color and keep the other one. I got the new cherry today and there were two and they are beautiful. Long story short they have great customer service and I know where I will be buying my wood from.
