  6. Excellent work Jerry. Like very much.
  7. Awesome work Kemaldo and compliments to you on designing your own patterns. That's another reason to be even more proud. A true artist.
  8. A year ago I spoke with a service person at Seyco re: quality of their saws now being made offshore. She assured me the quality re:parts being used is the same as when they were being made in Canada. I would presume a lot of the internal mechanisms have been updated as the overall machine has. What concerns me is the quality control is not consistent as when they were being manufactured in Canada. Reason for more issues being posted as example vibration problems. I believe due to the cost of labor the company had no choice but to move their manufacturing plant to offshore in order to stay competitive.
  9. Awesome work Dan. Like all three items and the wood choice.
  10. Totally Awesome cutting Paul. Especially cutting this pattern in ½" Maple. I know this would've taken awhile to cut and you probably have your reasons for only making a single one. Myself I would've stack cut at least three out of ⅛" stock. Mike Williams has some fabulous patterns. Again, love your work on this one. Very beautiful.
  11. Really nothing seriously wrong with your saw Paul. Just a matter of adjustment. On my 18 year old Ex30 it was a matter of tightening the tension located on the back top arm with a 10mm socket wrench. Adjusting the new Ex machines I believe is located on the back left side, but contact Ray at Seyco and he'll tell you in a second how to make the adjustment. These are very well made machines and the customer service is top notch. That's what makes these machines worth the extra dollar. Mine is belt driven and hope it'll last another 18 years.
  12. You're right Jerry. Everyone learns by trial and error. Don't be so hard on yourself. I would say you've done well. Be proud.
  13. Like the design Dan. I can see the smile on your grandsons face.
  14. Beautiful Mike. Very nicely cut. Your daughter and future son in law will be proud.
  15. Congrats Scott on your speaking engagement and receiving a new saw. She is a beauty. Nice machines.
  16. If you enjoyed cutting this pattern for a friend Mike than it is worth bragging about. You'll see once you've applied the paint and stain the lighthouse will pop. Excellent work.
  17. Fabulous cutting Dave.
  18. I can only answer your first question Jim. I use the Olson brand blades and I would use a #3 skip tooth.
  19. Excellent work Monti. The thickest hardwood I've cut is 1" even though my scrollsaw can cut up to 2" thickness. I use the Olson brand blades and when cutting any hardwood with a lot of corners I'll use a #5 skip tooth. If I was stack cutting two ¾" pieces of hardwood I would still only use a #5, double check my table is parallel to my blade. I would start cutting my pattern counter clock wise. But do a test cut first. Slow Down the speed accordingly and change blades when I notce more force is required. This is my opinion only and may not be the correct way.
  20. I've always been satisfied with the Epson brand.
  21. Very beautiful Randy and we'll cut.
  22. Very fine work Mark. Love the woods.
  23. Amazing piece of lumber. I drool every time I see lumber this size. I was in my favourite lumber store the other day and in the back room I noticed a gigantic piece of exotic wood from South America. The size had to have been approximately 5 x 8 and 6" thick. My eyes popped and my mouth started to drool. The price was just over $2000.00.
  24. I hear what your saying Monti. A shop vac is noisy and needs to be to be effective. One option some wood workers have done is place the vac outside your shop (enclosed) and operated with a remote switch.
  25. Awesome work Randy. Nice work.
