  8. Thanks everyone. Sorry it took so long to answer as it took quite a while to book and then change all the travel plans. We are so glad you like this project and we must admit it is one of our favorites. Here is a list of woods used for this one. Redheart Medium Western Red Cedar Blue Pine Ebonized Walnut Purple heart Yellow heart Oak Osage Aromatic Red Cedar Poplar Sassafras Pine There is also information that shows how to make a stencil to add the Glitter Glue lettering to the bible. This pattern is available, but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to list it here. Can someone let me know the proper procedure for this. Thanks again everyone for the kind words and we are now off to the wood store. God Bless Homer & Carol

  19. Spirithorse, funny you should mention doing the sides different as we have a Tiger on the drawing board that we are trying to do that very thing with. Not sure how long that project will take but will keep everyone posted. Keith we did hit the head pretty hard and it fell off LOL But its amazing what you can do with a tube of glue!!! If anyone would like to try this fish as a challenge project let us know and when we get the pattern done we will start a challenge thread. God Bless Homer & Carol
  20. That is great, good job Thanks Homer & Carol
  21. Keith We did not take exception to the comment but I must admit I've never seen a fish like that before. The scales are done using a small hammer on the harder woods and by hand on the softer woods. The tool is made from a 3/16" brass tube and sanded at an angle. Homer & Carol
  22. Thanks everyone for the kind words, this is just something we wanted to give a try. Were still trying to think of a subject for our next attempt. Keith I think we will rename this piece as FUNFISH as it really was a lot of fun. Kevin sorry we don't have a Gallery as of yet, don't seem like we have time for everything!!!!! Thanks again everyone Homer & Carol
  23. Tried something a little different, I guess you could call it a 3D intarsia. We cut the fish as a left and right hand intarsia and then glued them together and shaped them. Homer & Carol
  24. Jim That looks great, wood selection is right on. Thanks Homer & Carol
