  1. Very nice piece.
  2. Great pieces. I will have the song "Amazing Grace" going through my head all day today....
  3. Iggy pretty much has us all puzzled! Nice work!
  4. Great work!
  5. Well done. I know if I walked into a room with your illusions hanging, I would quickly become somewhat disorientated. I love them.
  6. I can picture a wave. Great work.
  7. That is a beauty of a wall hanger. Great choice of wood and super fine cutting.
  8. This is a picture I've wanted to do for a long time. I first saw it on Pinterest, liked it so much I saved the picture. I could not find who did the pattern. I had made up my mind that if I couldn't find the pattern, I was going to use the picture as a pattern. A couple weeks ago I was looking at Alex Fox's patterns and there is was! I purchased the pattern. Finished cutting it today. It is cut in 5/8" popular. Not a difficult pattern to cut.
  9. Really like that Steve. I'm thinking you should put hangers on the back so the kids can hang them on the wall when not working them. Well done.
  10. That is really a beautiful piece all the way around. I also really like the buffed finish. Give a very deep rich look. The last "2nd Amendment" plaque I did was done in Cherry. I buffed it with a light coat of Tripoli and then a buffing of wax using buffing wheels mounted on my lathe. I was a little concerned but with a light touch I did not have any problems.
  11. Another wonderful job, Kris. Both on pattern and cutting.
  12. Very well done!
  13. Very neat! I have seen homemade combs before. Did not know people actually used them.
  14. That is very neat! Great scrolling.
  15. Great job!
  16. Really is a nice piece of work.

    Hello

Well, if you do fret work, I would recommend a saw capable of BOTTOM feeding. That would include the Seyco, Hawk and Hegner. I left out the DeWalt and Delta, Because you said you had no problem with the price range of the higher end saws. I would also include, the Excelisor if you are in Canada. Keep in mind the Hegner is the only one I mentioned that is strictly bottom feed, I think. The top feed verses bottom feed, has no bearing on the type of scrolling you do, in my opinion. Dan, and others may disagree,,,, To me it is like whether you are right handed or left handed.... I am a bottom feeder, others are top feeders. I drive a GMC others drive a Ford.... All that said, welcome to the forum.. So glad to have you. Hope top see some of your work soon.
  18. Okay, here is my take. When someone says "hurting yourself" I think, 'hurting yourself", as in I may need to go to the hospital! A little cut in which you say "ouch!" or "dang" or even something a little stronger, is not a real hurt to me. that is just every day life, suck it up and get over it kind of thing. I routinely draw a little blood, but it does not change the way I do things. I say on a scroll saw, you can not hurt yourself, other than dropping it on your foot and breaking it or breathing dust until you have to carry around an oxygen tank. To seriously cut your finger, you would really have to work at it. I say the scroll saw is probably the safest, moving tool in a workshop. The little scares and bruises, are to seek sympathy from friends while sitting around and drinking beer. Ah, just my humble opinion.
  19. Really like the unique patterns you cut so nicely. Do you make your own?
  20. I really like this one. Super scrolling.
  21. Those are both outstanding pieces. I'd like to do that clock some time.
  22. Now that is cool, for sure. Great job!
  23. Go. Back 5 or 6 post and read about the "Excelsior". Unfortunately it doesn't look like they ship out of Canada. I think my new Seyco is as good as my Excalibur was.
  24. I am sure a person can lightly cut the them self on a blade but really hurt them self,,, not sure how. Not counting dropping the saw on your foot or something when assembling or moving it.
  25. Thanks, Dave very kind of you to share. Our 50th is in Oct. I don't think I can do this before then, but maybe a makeup after. I am not good at the anniversary stuff, told my kids the 50th was their responsibility. They will probably come with dinner at McDonald's and a night at Motel 6!!
