  1. SOMEONE who can please try one! If it is just like the Excalibur and at that price,,, DeWalt will be out of business... Seriously a saw as good as the Excalibur, at a cheaper price... just saying. I will be sorry I have a Seyco, and Seyco is in trouble also.
  2. Humm, if it is exactly like the Excalibur as some say it is, you will be able to get parts from Seyco. I bet they will also help diagnose problems. But a person may be on there own replacing bad parts. I do not know of any parts on the Ex that are difficult to replace. But personally, I would make sure about all this info before I would purchase one a King saw.
  3. Even though I goofed it up? Sorry. I even search Loc-Lite and came up with Loc-Line but didn't notice. Duh. I just purchased some from loc-line.com. Got great service and maybe a little cheaper than Amazon. I try to help out others when I can instead of alway Amazon. Just a personal thing.
  4. NICE. Always wanted a getaway cabin.
  5. Well, Iggy, this was really a joy to read. So glad it appears to be working out, you really deserve it being you appear to be a very patient person. For what it is worth, I think all scroll saws, as do band saws have a drift tendency. It is a natural thing. Some more than others. I have a Hegner and it has less than any other saw I have owned, but I attribute that to the less forward/back motion on the saw, as your Hawk would have. I also tried the Pegas MG blades and they cut a straighter line, i.e. less drift than any other blade I have used. So, it must mean that the blade has a part, maybe the most part in the drift. I do not know. For my type of scrolling, the Pegas MG blades were too aggressive but I also tried some of their other blades and really liked them. Fact they may have replaced my favorite FD blades that I have used for a long time. Anyway, I am real happy for you. Life is great!
  6. Glad to have you move in. Great place to chat, learn, drink coffee. Enjoy,,, oh ya share scrolling info and projects.
  7. That is so impressive. Great job!
  8. I really like the items you have been posting. Having little imagine most of what I cut is done in light wood with black background. Yours are not only well cut, but the presentation is also great. I am your pupil.
  9. Those are very neat! I have in mind to try to make some pendants out of soapstone. I use to turn it on a lathe and make things, should be able to cut it on a scrolls saw.
  10. That little steam engine, in the third picture, I kinda got side tracked on building one, I have the plans and motor. Need to get back at it. I really appreciate you posting pictures...
  11. I think he was wondering about the avatar people have that is a colored circle with a letter in it. I think it is a default avatar.
  12. You really did Grandpa's pattern proud! Those side/sides look like so much fun. Nice work.
  13. May I ask where you got that info? The Seyco is like the EX, top or bottom feed..
  14. Thanks so much for posting pictures. Those of us that are too far away to ever get there, really appreciate it. I especially like the picture of the "robots" Been there done that and one of my most fun projects.
  15. You got a great find there. Hegner is my favorite saw followed by the Ex than the Seyco, that is of the saws I have owned. I would love to try a Hawk, but have not had the opportunity yet. I am anxious to hear from someone that owns or has owned an Ex., that has purchased the King saw or at least tried one. I want to know if it is comparable to the Ex. I fear they must have cut some corners to sell it that cheap. Anyway, congrats on your Ex find. If I got a good buy on one I would be mighty tempted.
  16. Nothing wrong with the Ex. Did Seyco have one for sale? Is that where you got the new Ex? I agree with the head tilting, I never used it but I think I would like the Ex's turn knob method better. I plan on doing some inlaying and think the Ex would have been easier for tilting the head back and forth, I shall see. But, don't short change the Seyco. I have had both now and except for a couple little things they are the same. I do love the bigger table, but did not care for the magnetic cover. I have since made my own cover out of masonite and can insert zero clearance disks in it, same setup I had put on my Ex.
  17. Some very nice work.
  18. Nice cutting and presenting. Is that you "frame clamp" around that one frame or is that part of the framing? Just asking, I'm always looking for different frame clamps.
  19. Great work and a great idea, showing the Quilt store owner your work. I am a quilter husband also.... spend a lot of time sitting in the car, while my wife goes into one more quilt store.... Maybe I will take a few samples to show and take some money out of a quit store for a change,, instead of my wife giving them money all the time......
  20. Glad you have joined us. Looked at your posts of some of your work. Really very impressive. I think you will inspire more people to look at salvaged wood. Great work.
  21. Same with Hegner, everything is right out in the open.. Kinda funny how the more expensive saws are actually simpler.
  22. Welcome to the forum. There is a lot more to learn about scrolling than most think. A lot of different things can be accomplished with one.
  23. Welcome to the Village. Glad you have moved in.
  24. Makes for a very nice picture.
