  1. Now that you say that about the magazine, I think that is where Charley said he got it also. I did internet searches and came up with it at The Art Factory. Must be a Dirk Boelman pattern.
  2. Thank you, do you have pictures of yours? I'd love to see it. I know Charley (CharleyL) did it, and is a beautiful piece. That is where I first saw it. Took me a little while to find the pattern, Charley could not remember where he purchased it. One reason I went with the ball was because if I don't like it when done, I will get to cut the pattern again.
  3. This is something I finished cutting last week. Not completely finish yet because I think I have a plan. The pattern is from "The Art Factory" and is called "The Keeper of Time". It is suppose to have a small clock in his paw. But, for some reason I visualized a glass ball in his paw. So after some searching I found some glass balls and I picked the amber color. Now my plan is to figure a way to put a small light behind the ball and make it a night light for my Grandson. So it is not finish and mounted on a base yet. I have to find the little light and figure how to attach it first before I do finishing. I think I found one at "Wooden Teddy Bear" but I am waiting for some answers to some questions about it that I emailed this weekend. I have until next Christmas to figure this out. But that is only a little over 6 months away!! This was really a fun cut. It is 1/2" Cherry, around 17" long and 9 1/2" high.
  4. I've missed your posts. Glad you have one to look at and as usual the quality is something to aspire to. Beautiful. You are very talented.
  5. Those are nice. If I was forced to vote on one, I would have to pick that sun one.
  6. Very interesting and thanks for sharing. I'm wondering it you could lay your pattern down under the glass stuff before you pour in the rosin and dyes. Then, if you could see your pattern it would help show where to spread the colors you want. Just a thought.

    Kitten

Great scrolling. Kitten is a cutie.
  8. Great scrolling.
  9. Very well done. Also, very nice of you.
  10. Brian, welcome to the forum. Glad you are joining us. I am not sure either what you mean by scroll saw logs. A picture would really help us help you. You do know there is a huge pattern library here on this site, all free patterns.
  11. Some very nice "stuff" you have done. That scroll saw looks about like the first scroll saw I ever used as a kid. My dad had it and we made Christmas present for my Mom on it. We were not good, but she pretended she loved the things we made....
  12. Good thinking and good scrolling. She will be happy.
  13. Some might fine scrolling and painting. They should be very happy with those.
  14. Very nice job on the table. I'm thinking you should send description and pictures to Hegner. I love their saw, but nothing has changed on it for a long long time. Maybe they would consider upgrading it a little. You have two modifications I want to do when I get brave enough to cut/drill on my saw. The table top and the having the top arm raise higher. Well done sir. Came back to summit a suggestion, I don't know how good of one, but I thought of it a second ago, looking at your table again. Do you think it would be worth making a hole in the auxiliary table to accept a zero clearance insert? The metal insert could stay in the original insert hole to give backing for homemade inserts for the auxiliary. In your case they would have to be made the same thickness as your aux table with the laminate.
  15. My wife is gone to a quilting "retreat" this weekend. Not sure what you do at a quilting retreat, but she goes to it each year and I notice she slipped in a few bottles of Mike's Lemonade along with the sewing machine. It is fine by me, Abbey (our standard poodle) and I are having our own little "Scrolling Retreat" right here in my shop. This mornings exercise was a quick "Fidget Spinner". Steve Good pattern. Abbey doesn't have hers done yet, she keeps going outside and goofing off. Right now she is passed out on the shop floor! Anyway this is my first retreat project complete.
  16. Very nice work. Good scrolling and painting.
  17. I keep coming back and looking at you pictures. I really like the idea of the upper arm moving up higher, would make life somewhat easier. I wonder why Hegner has not done this. Does it give you more front to back movement of the blade, or can you adjust that out with the tension? Actually I guess it wouldn't change the F/b movement, you are not changing the pivot point. How do you know what size spring to get to replace the existing one?
  18. Beautiful puppy. I'm not real good at names. I've had a lot of dogs called different names, Heyyou, Get, Damnit, SOB, Steppedinitagain...... Just kidding. I'm a dog lover and my wife says I get along with dog, much better than I do people... probably true.
  19. Another very nice one.
  20. Always thought I'd like to try something similar, but have not clue where I would put it once completed.
  21. Great looking. Nothing wrong with horses. Keep them coming.
  22. Very nice of Bob and you created a neat logo using it.
  23. Welcome to the Village. Park your Jeep and sit in front of that scroll saw. Great hobby and lots of great teachers here.
  24. Very nice one.
  25. My nephew has brought me quit a bit of wood over the years, in the form of old headboards from beds, shelving, some cabinets. all things he has found very cheap or free at yard sales. I still have some beautiful mahogany from one bookshelf he brought to me. Also check Habitat for Humanity stores. Not free wood but very cheap.
