    I have a WEN it takes and comes with several sizes of sanding tubes. The suction that removes dust is superb. I think the diameter of rolls runs from 1/2 to 1 -1/2. Since it is a WEN I probably got it on Amazon. Good machine use it all the time. Darryl

    There is a rather inexpensive spray gun called "the Criter" runs about $50 that will work on any type of paint , varnish, lacquer. It does not allow you to change the pattern of the spray but that will probably not be an issue. If you get the critter make certain it is with the stainless tube not the aluminum the latter will bend when dropped. It uses a pint size "Mason" jar. I use lacquer and keep one filled with lacquer the other with Acetone to clean the spray head when done. Darryl

    Larry, I use an NSK high speed (100,000 rpm) unit that is used for piercing woodturning items. I use a "dental" tip that actually burns the wood it is turning so fast. Uses about 40 PSI from my air compressor.

    Cheep is not the way to go for something like a portrait. Try Ochooch hardwoods or some other supplier even Amazon and get some good ply. The uderlaiment will spliinter and make things look . . . well cheep.

    I use Titebond clear. It goes on white but dries perfectly clear Any minor spillover that I do not catch is no problem because the backer board color shows through

    I went through the problem of having the blower tube loosen up and finally fall off. Tried hot melt glue, duct tape and so forth with no success. Finally found a fix. Too cheeep to buy a new one at #27 or so. Instead I used 1/2 inch 3:1 heat shrink tubing. I found the type that has hot melt glue inside. Put about and inch over the end of the blower hose. Had to trim a bit of the hose to get the 1/2 inch to slip over the end. Used a heat gun to shrink the tubing while holding the hose end tight to the round fitting and shrunk the heat shrink stuff. When it cooled i found it tighter than when new.

    I always have a bottle of acetone around when using CA. It is a quick solvent and will undo skin stick togethers if necessary

    I cut this pattern without too many problems When I first got started. I used a #2 and #3 and 14/inch ply. It is tricky but 1/8 I think is going to cause a problem particularly on the up stroke of the blade if the blade is a modified geometry6 or reverse tooth both will give the 1/8 th stuff fits..

    RATHER THAN AIR BRUSH (WHICH ARE A PAIN TO KEEP CLEAN) LOOK AT THE CRITTER SPRAY GUN. they ARE INEXPENSIVE AND i ASSUME YOU HAVE A COMPRESSOR. iT TAKES ABOUT 40 LBS FOR LACQUER FOR EXAMPLE. THE MATERIAL IS PUT IN A MASON JAR THAT CLEANS EASILY WITH ACETONE IN A SEPARATE JAR. THE ONLY DOWN SIDE IS THAT THE SPRAY PATTERN IS NOT ADJUSTABLE SO YOU HAVE TO LEARN TO USE THE TILT OF THE GUN TO CHANGE TO SP[RAY PATTERN. IF YOU GET 0ONE GET IT WITH THE STAINLESS FEEDER TUBE CAUSE THE ALUMINUM BREAKS WHEN DROP[ED ON THE FLOOR. DAKMHIK

    I clamp the center tight and smear the hot melt around the sides and spread it with the hot tip. Make certain you cut the inside always.

    'When I stack cut I realize it will be slower than the same stuff individually. When I put the stack together I make certain there is no bow in the wood and sometimes sand a piece flat. I also use a handy handy quick clamp to hold the stack together when I apply hot melt of tape depenidng on how I feel at the time. I have stack cut a munch of woods of different thickness. By the way ply will dull the blades rapidly.

    Shellac is made by dissolving flakes in alcohol. Any type alcohol can be used but Methanol dries fastest. A 2 p[pound cut is two pounds of flakes in a gallon of alcohol. So you can mix any cut you want. the flakes can be had in various shades of yellow. A 2 lb cut is the usual type you can find.

    I use the "Critter" spray gun for finish spraying. It only requires about 40 PSI and the spray material is in a pint "Mason" jar. The clean up is easy cause I have a jar filled with either acetone or thinner and switch jars when I am finished and spray that through the "gun" . If you get one make certain you get the one with the stainless feeding tube. The aluminum breaks easily. You can not alter the spray pattern but for finishing you don't need to. They are inexpensive and work well.

    You really should look into getting the" Grriper." It stops thase things from happening. Relatively cheeeeep for the protection it provides.

    When I do 3d cuts I use a jig type clamp to keep everything in place until all the interior and exterior cuts have been made. Then I remove the scrap from around and inside the piece. The pattern looks like it will work. Just don't take anything apart until your are finished.
