  1. I think I see a dead horse. Let's beat him.
  2. I wear hearing aids that amplify everything except the human voice. I can hear an ant fart at 40 yards but I can't hear my wife sitting next to me. And it's not Selective Hearing. My hearing is actually still very good but she insisted that I get them so I could hear her. Didn't work. When in the shop, I don't wear anything to protect my hearing. I did everything possible to ruin my hearing. I have tinnitis in both ears. But, I still hear very well. The hearing aids were a waste of $2800.
  3. Les. can you supply a link?
  4. I can't believe how much adhesive ya'll use. I've still got my first can of 77. I did use up a small can of Elmer's that my wife had. Since switching to the shipping labels, I just don't use much anymore.
  5. We are presently out on the road with our motor home. First trip in a 17 year old rig. Anyway to my point, second night out our water heater quit. I got on the IRV2 forum and posed my problem. I got a ton of help but still had to visit a repair facility. Once repaired, I got back on and explained what had been done to get us back on the road. Everybody thanked me and said they would add the info to their notes. I only wish everybody would do the same. This is by far the best scroll saw forum and folks don't know what they are missing if they just "stop n go".
  6. They should offer plans on disc. I've suggested more than once. Their answer, "we don't have that capability". They are either lying or living in the dark ages.
  7. Les, I googled cat tail hanger hooks and a lot of choices came up.
  8. Folks need to tell the rest of the story once they solve their problem.
  9. I'd offer based on one saw or both. For both, I'd do as Paul suggested. How much do you want it/them. I think I'd go $600 for the Seyco and $100 more for the EX. I'm sure she just wants them gone.
  10. Les, I have had good luck wetting the cupped side, turn it over and clamp to my bench overnight. I hope that works for you.
  11. I bought my Hawk 226 Ultra in like new condition for $250. Hawks are very plentiful in So Cal area. Most are under $400.
  12. Thanks, that was neat!
  13. Glad it helped. I had the same problem and someone here on The Village set me straight.
  14. One of my first projects was a basket made of poplar and once assembled I was very happy with it. I used Watco natural oil and then a couple coats of Zinnser's spray shellac.
  15. Jim, have you checked to make sure the blade is in the same plane in both clamps? It's important that the blade sits perfectly vertical. Hard to explain but if you have blade clamps that have a clamp screw and an anvil screw then there is an adjustment that has to me made so that the blade sits vertical. Once that's done, then you can adjust your table so that it is square to the blade. Only then will any of the above suggestions matter.
  16. This thread is from 2018.
  17. I agree completely. I have had the same problem.
  18. The American dollar is not worth much now.
  19. I have been tempted to buy some of his wood. You can't beat the price. Now that I know it's good I'll buy some. I usually buy for a project but it might be nice to have some of that laying around. I have a planer, never used it. But now that may give me the incentive I've been lacking. Thanks Les.
  20. That old problem of the blade not being square in the clamps has been talked about before. The blade must be in alignment top to bottom before adjusting to square the blade to the table.
  21. I hope you folks realize that the original post here is from 2016. Some of these need to be marked dead and buried.
  22. I agree Kevin. Someone must service those parts separately. I wonder how the Pegas parts would differ from the original EX's.
  23. Too crowded, too expensive, too "liberal"!
  24. I am totally blown away that this topic has lasted this long. Imagine asking about what to do with your floor sweepings. I just vacuum them up and never give another thought.
