    Congrats on the new Hegner. I just sold my 18" Hegner. I didn't like the way it ran but that is another story. Once you get yours and get it set up, you'll probably love it. I would buy another one if the right deal came along. Mine had a speed issue. Anyway, there are many folks here that can help you out if you have problems but more than likely you won't. It's just a matter of getting used to it if you had a different type of saw. The Hegner is a great saw. You'll love it.

    That first one is the one I have and I don't care for it. I hate the switch and the fact that it is not a variable speed is a problem. If they would have had the other one at the time, I'd have stepped up to it. I'm going to buy either that one or the one I pictured earlier on Amazon.

    That's a good idea. I have watched all the videos at least once. I just found a couple of good tutorial websites too. I just can't justify sitting in my office all day while there are things that need to be done so I'll have to wait until I get those things out of my way. Christmas! Bah! Humbug! LOL.

    I'm not happy about joining the club but I finally did it. I put a blade in upside down. I blame it all on Pegas. I had used F/D blades and they have the little dimple ground into the top of them. So, I just got a gross of Pegas MG blades and they have marked the ends of theirs with a tiny, well I don't know what you would call it, but it denotes one end from the other. I assumed, and that is where I screwed up, that the marked end was the UP and the plain end would be down. I couldn't figure out why my pattern was lifting along the cut line. The blade was cutting fine because it is a reverse blade. So, I didn't realize at first what was happening. I finally had the "uh huh" moment and saw what was going on. So, a word to the wise if you use Pegas blades. They are marked but the opposite of the F/D blades. Dang!!!

    Thanks, that is great information. I didn't realize that they were all so similar. I have messed with Gimp and it is way different from Inkscape. At least to this uneducated guy. I really do want to learn how to make these programs sing for me. I hate not knowing how stuff works.

    That's the best reason in the world. You just have to hope and pray that they do as you hoped when you bought them. I know if I had space, I'd have a lot more tools too.

    I think they are all the same size Ralph. Pretty sure you can buy them most anywhere. Amazon has them I'm sure. Just buy the ones marketed for the Delta saws. If I recall, they are 1/2" square.     While we are on this subject, I was just telling my wife today that all I want for Christmas is an "in-person" class on both Inkscape and Gimp. I have watched a bazillion videos on both and am still confused on how to use them. I would be so much better off if I could take an actual class where there is an instructor present to ask a question of. Have any of you folks ever attended a class? I'm just curious as to how you went about learning the programs. And what would you call this type of program. Are they graphical manipulation or what? What type of class am I looking for? I know if I took one class it might make learning all the other graphics programs easier to understand. I know, I'm old and dense. But, I'm not stupid.

    Thank you all. I have had a quick little tutorial here. I only asked because I'm going to be assembling my latest basket. It has 7 layers plus the top and bottom. The first one I made, I used aliphatic resin, (wood glue) and I used it very sparingly but I still got a tiny bit of squeeze out. I thought this time I might try using CA glue and the accompanying accelerator. But now you all have me wondering if that is the best way to go. I have never used CA for any of my projects other than to fix something that either broke or split. I am going to attach a pic of what I'm doing. You've all seen it before but a pic is worth a thousand words. Somebody else said that once but I'll be darned if I recall who it was. Thanks again, everybody. I love you all.

    I just have to convince my wife that it's a great deal. I just looked to see the driving time. It's about 80 miles each way for me but with the SoCal traffic that's about 4 hours at best. I'm thinking though.

    Wow! That's pretty thick. I'm only talking about 1/4" stuff. That should be fairly easy to "uncup". The folks who I bought my wood from got the order messed up and sent me 1/4" oak but they sent 1/8" maple so they corrected that. I ended up with a free piece of maple but it is cupping now too. I don't have space to "sticker" it so I guess I'll have to do the whole process on it too.

    Is there more than one kind of C/A glue and if so, what are the differences? I'm just a bit confused over the whole thing. I bought a bottle of Gorilla super glue not knowing it was more of a gel and is a bit slow to cure. I don't know if accelerator will work with it or not.

    I did. I would love to have a few of the tools you guys have but they would have to be stored outside my shop until needed. And living by the ocean, that ain't gonna happen. I am maxed out in my itty-bitty shop.

    I have used "super" glue for many years in both the very thin state and also the thicker type. I have never used any of the accelerator though. Can any of you offer any advice on what you use as to type, brand, etc.? Actually, I have never been to any of the hardware stores and found any of the accelerator types. Where do you buy them?

    I was taught in high school wood shop class that you can take a dent out of wood the same way. I am going to give this a try. A couple more questions..... how much cup were you able to cure? And what brand/make of drum sander do you have. I might start looking for a used one. I know I'm probably dreaming but who knows?
