  9. Here in central Arizona we have had now 30 days of 110 degrees or higher. Still counting. But this 83 year ol'fogy prefers that over shoveling snow or cleaning up after a flood. John Old Dust Scrollers do not have "scrap wood". We only have a constant diminishing dementional inventory.

  15. I have an Excalibur 21 The actual wood size is 1 1/2 X 1 1/2" Pine. The hole or slot I am talking about is the one on the table that the blade goes thru. Blade FD#7. John Old Dust
  16. I was doing compound cuttings of 2X2 and was breaking blades left & right. Even though I had tight tension I was pushing the wood too hard and thus bending the blade which then touched the edge of the blade hole in the table. Yes I know; Scrolling 101; go slow and let the saw do the work. So now I do not push hard and also have to find a way to enlarge the hole. All my grinding stones for my Dremel are to large to fit in the slot. Any suggestions? John Old Dust

I think I might have shown this before but in my Barhopping to raise funds this is a winner. John Old Dust
  18. As some of you know, 98% of my scroll saw work is to raise funds for my favorite charity, the Arizona Lions Clubs Handicapped Camp. ( arizonalionscamp.org) I just sent them another $1,000.00 which makes my total over $48,000.00 up to now. I used to travel the state to do craft shows but cannot handle them anymore. I am 82 now so I mainly bar hop with some samples and also have a wall display in a local Cafe. A few months after the camping season I get some pictures of the campers I have been able to help that year and their smiling faces make it all worth it. Pick out your favorite charity and devote some time to help support it. You'll feel great about it. John Old Dust
