  1. I'm with you on the list of things to try.
  2. I am/was in the process of making a piggy bank for my great nephew and glued up the three pieces. Didn't realize that one of the sides slid out of place until a day later when I went to sand it. It is to far out of place to sand down effectively. How do I unglue the one side or did I just make some designer firewood????
  3. Goo Gone is what I use. I have also used an old pencil to "pick up" the pattern. Just tap the edge to lift it off the surface. A little less sticky on the fingers.
  4. When I signed up, I clearly wasn't very imaginative - Barb is my name.
  5. Thanks for all the comments, made for a good read! Lots of great information.
  6. Hearing protection always. I wear glasses, so just use them, don't have safety glasses. Haven't found a respirator that doesn't fog up my glasses or is too heavy feeling. I will take recommendations for a respirator!
  7. Well, I guess I will step into this insurance fray. As an insurance broker (Canada), it is always a good idea to purchase. If you are running the business from your home you SHOULD talk to your broker. People get into difficulties with claims if the insurance company is not aware of the risk. By talking to your broker, doesn't mean that your home coverage will be void. Please be upfront with the broker - it is very hard to "go to bat" for you, our client, if we don't have all the information. (Off my high horse now!)
  8. No longer down!! Yeah! Still putting things away, but it has been used well last weekend. Was excited to use my new Superior Puzzle blades from Mike's Workshop! There is a seahorse and sea lion in the second picture.
  9. Thanks all for the kind words.
  10. And the workroom is functional!!!! Still lots of tweaking to do and stuff to bring in but it is usable and very comfortable.
  11. It is like the Sandflee - flatbed sander http://stockroomsupply.ca/shop/18-flatmaster.html. Bought it with the proceeds from my first craft sale.
  12. Room is done, now I just have to find the time to put tools back in. Looking forward to setting up my new Flatmaster. It arrived just before the work started so it's not even out of the box! Hopefully will get the room mostly loaded this weekend.
  13. If the angle is right it doesn't require the groove or wood. I have made a few, none have any front support. Use mine all the time.
  14. amazing
  15. Well tomorrow should be the day!!! Was missing the saw on the weekend so I dragged it into the shop. It looks so lonely, but I did get some cutting done!!
  16. I ordered from Mikes on Jan 22 - still waiting. Hopefully they aren't stuck in customs somewhere
  17. I did a hair pick last summer after my daughter "stole" my brush
  18. Sadly the electrician won't be out until Tuesday. I was hoping to load up the room this weekend. It sure is looking pretty!!
  19. So, as my workshop is near the finish line a general question for discussion. How do you store the small, but not too small, pieces of wood? Do you just throw everything into a bin and then look though when you want a small piece. Are you organized enough to have separate areas for different sizes? Pictures of your storage would be great!!!! Thanks in advance for all ideas.
  20. Thanks, I did that probably in my first year and was too "new" to realize that it was advanced as it was. Had started it then put it away for awhile.
  21. This has been my biggest piece so far.
  22. I use Ziploc bags, write on the area provided and then hang with Christmas tree hooks on a rack. May be changing when the workroom is up an running again but not sure.
  23. I bet you got into a lot of treble!!!
  24. I did cut some of the tablet holders with bamboo cutting boards. There was an issue with it breaking on the grain. Because they were for personal use, just glued it back up.
  25. (Canadian here) Sorry to burst you bubble - there are pins with credit cards. Have been using the chip & pin technology here for years. For the last couple of years you can now just tap your card!!!!! Very fast!!!!
