  1. Very nice Mel. There are no newbie mistakes in the eye of the recipient because they do only see the love that was put into a project. We are our own worst critics - I know I am my own. Again Nice cutting.
  2. Thanks to everyone for the kind words, always appreciated.
  3. No, I just actually have figured out how to get photos from my phone to the laptop!!
  4. Here are a couple of things that I recently made. The phone stand if for hubby who turns his guitars up so I can scroll without disturbing him. The birds still need to be mounted, was thinking of finding a nice branch and mounting them somehow. The bowl ended up being a gift to my sister.
  5. I am with you Jay, would swap for warmer temps just to be outside. Temperature here today is only -16©. Most of last week was -25 to -32, not counting the windchill. Scroll saw thankfully in the basement. Hubby doesn't complain about the noise - his guitars and amps get turned up, and I am the the one doing the dusting!!
  6. I did some cleanup, mostly went through some boxes of wood scraps and (i am sure to the horror of many) was brutal in cleaning. Decided that if I hadn't looked at the it in the last 6 months, it was going out. Don't actually feel too bad about it as most of it was free to me wood! Still need to do a full move everything out so the walls can be insulated & finished, but that will have to wait til spring. Right now it its -20degrees Celsius with a windchill factor making it feel like -30(or so)
  7. Looks good. I always wear hearing protection. Long exposure is just as bad as loud.
  8. I have been thinking of going into a show over the last couple of years but have worried about "everything" , especially about having enough stock. Over the past few weeks, I have sold over $100 worth of ornaments and plaques! Did that by pulling out a few items when friends were over or just showing pictures of things I made to people at social gatherings. Great non-show show!! Maybe next year I will go to a show!
  9. Very nice work - I love the plywood and personally use it almost exclusively. I will have to try to find a copy of that magazine, would love the patterns for myself and that was before I got into this hobby!
  10. Just had one point to glue after a bit of sanding and that was after the hubby suggested I try to make it more point like at the bottom - not happening again:)
  11. Here is the link for it. http://scrollsawer.com/2016/09/14/spiral-ornament-patterns/
  12. This was a fun quick cut. Used some cedar I had laying around. Expect I will make more.
  13. Very nice work. As others have mentioned, love the colour choices on the background.
  14. Very nice - where did the pattern come from, I would be interested in purchasing.
  15. Thanks for all the kind words. I actually sold the Christmas plaque to my boss!!
  16. Here are a few things that I have finished. Haven't decided what to do with them. Possibly inventory for a future craft sale, but at my rate of cutting it will be a couple of years before I have enough stock😀
  17. I use a drill press that I got at a garage sale.
  18. Here in Winnipeg, MB, Canada I get my BB ply at Windsor Plywood.
  19. I have been wanting to order wood, but am concerned about importing to Canada. Any Canadians out there that buy on-line? Any issues with customs?
  20. Ziploc bags hung with christmas ornament hooks on an utensil "rail"
  21. Thanks Chachi - that will be great. Will post a picture when done.
  22. Thanks for all the kind words.
  23. Here is some of my latest work. Yes I know it is only just the start of summer, but I don't get much cutting done in the summer. Trying to get ahead of the game
  24. Thanks for letting me know. Anybody else want to try the pattern for me????
  25. To Bobscroll, I did your "welcome to the lake" plaque and a friend saw that but would like "Welcome Home". Could you please do a modified plaque with "Welcome Home". Thanks!
