  1. It is a Tens unit - https://physioworks.com.au/landing/tens-machines.htm. Physiotherapists use it to stimulate the nerves/muscles.
  2. Work room is temporarily out of commission! Looking forward to having it completed and setting things up. Will use the reloading time to really think about how and where I use things and sort through the "junk".This is before - some of the room has been cleared out. Here it is cleaned out. Contractor comes in on Wednesday to frame, insulate, drywall and electrify!!! As I tell people - I only do small stuff!!!
  3. Very nice.
  4. Knew I was going into a craft sale so prepped myself by getting a Square - everyone paid cash! Haven't used the square yet!!!
  5. We are warming up here today, going to -13C. That is up from -35C with the windchill.
  6. You bundle up or stay inside. It often doesn't seem that cold unless the wind is blowing. I would rather a cold day and little to no wind than a "warmer" day and a strong wind.
  7. I use mine to hold the phone up as I read my books while eating. I have an ap from the library so I download the books for free.
  8. I have the Canadian Tire equivalent of this. Don't have it set as a table saw, works fine.
  9. Temperature here in Winnipeg, also known as Winterpeg, is a cool -33 Celsius with a windchill making it feel like -43. Thankfully the workshop is in the basement!
  10. WOW!!! Absolutely stunning!!
  11. They had this offer before. Would love to order but the shipping cost to Canada was outrageous.
  12. received my FlatMaster today!!!!! Very excited!!! Got it home (had it delivered to the office). Opened the box to make sure all the parts are there. Have to order a motor, going to check with the brother's-in-law to see if they have anything, if not it will be check on Kijiji (Canadian Craig's List), if not there then retail market. I will keep you all informed, but probably not until after Christmas.
  13. Those are pictures that I have taken on Lake of the Woods. One is the marina where we keep our boat and the other is one of the anchorages that we enjoyed last summer! No scrolling going on there!!
  14. How do you "free hand"????? Do you have a video or description of what you do???
  15. Thanks,I used a Steve Good template.
  16. Some of this weekend's cutting. Glued the photos onto 1/4"BB ply with spray glue. Let that sit for a couple of days. Stack cut, put the photos on the inside, glued the template to the back side. After cutting, took the pieces apart. That was actually harder than it should have been, the two layers stuck together. Next time I will put some wax paper between the photos. Cut with #2R olson blade. Haven't finished the wood. Might put a coating of Mod Podge on the top to seal the edges. These were for practice on cutting puzzles for future ideas.
  17. It's beautiful. Did you use different thickness as well? The main part looks higher than the rest.
  18. Just ordered the Stockroom Supply Flatmaster drum sander. Can't wait til it arrives. It was my splurge from my craft sale earnings!!! Will review once I have used it!.
  19. Obviously late to the answer game. When I have painted, I have just painted directly onto the wood. Use brushes from the dollar store.
  20. You can use the paints right out of the bottle. You can also thin them - make them more like a stain so you can see the wood. Red always takes lots of coats to cover properly. Use a paper plate as a palette to mix colours. Do a Google search to look at colour wheels, that will give you an idea on what colours to mix to create different colours. Just have fun with the paint!!
  21. I am looking at buying the "flatmaster" sander (http://stockroomsupply.ca/shop/drum-sanders.html) because I too am not willing to spend $800 for the sandflee. Currently I glue a full sheet of sandpaper to a large ceramic tile. Got that tip from a Carol Rothman book.
  22. I did a bunch of the mini nativity sets from Steve Good - they were fun to cut and they amazed the recipients because of the size.
  23. I also have a compound cut chess set all ready to go. Started a couple of them but got sidetracked. Need to get them finished for the upcoming boating season.
  24. I haven't read through all the responses so this may have been addressed already. Import the pattern to a "word" document (I use open office or google docs). You can then right click on the picture and a dialogue box will open, select copy, then you can paste & paste & paste. Create as many copies as you need and line up on the paper. Print as normal. Hope this makes sense.
  25. Congrats on the new place. Looks like you can have separate rooms. One for cutting, one for finishing & one for storage!
