Really like the cutting!!......At the very least i would spay a coat or two of poly or shellac just to seal it....Nice work!

When looking at Red Oak for the Trivets i am cutting, i came across a red oak riser. It appears that it is four two inch strips glued up to make a 4ft long 8inch wide piece.I like the way it looks with a varied grain pattern, and it is cheaper per board ft. My question is how will it cut ...compared to the oak i have been using,...will it stay together after being cut??...May be a silly question, but never having worked with it i do not know.....Sometime trying to save a couple of bucks does not pay off.....Thanks for any tips or knowledge you can share!!!!.....Steve.

I will try all the patterns before i am finished.....This is also cut from 1 inch red oak...cut with FDUR# 5 blades...finished with mineral oil......I am learning a lot cutting this thick oak...most of my projects in the past are cut from 1/4 BB plywood, so this is quite different.......Thanks for looking! pattern by R. This pattern is from our pattern library under " Cultural "...........Just something fun to cut, a little South west flair......cut from 1/4 BB...Painted light Turquoise on a black backer.....pattern by Oges....Enjoyed cutting this!
