  1. Hi all I have been away for a few months due to a unexpected bypass surgery. Tough thing to go through but getting a little better everyday. My niece asked me to do a 50th wedding portrait but I havent mastered the gimp program yet as I fell sick but if anybody has a little free time I was wondering if you can get me going. I try to get to the garage for a couple of hours everyday when I have the energy so this project will get me going if someone is willing Thanks so much Damian
  2. Okay Ill give it a wirl to try my luck. Thanks Don for giving it your expertise and when Kevin said dont quit well Im not a quiter yet the cutting doesnt scare me as much as trying to make it look good on paper , well well see if I can knock it off. Thanks Damian
  3. thanks Don for trying but that is what I got.If nobody is not lucky I might have to find one close that is not copywrite a picture is only as good as the picture as the saying goes and thats all I was given and at least I know what Im up against!
  4. Hi I am wondering if any of you would like to take a shot at this one.I have tried a couple of programs to get detail but no luck.Maybe its me but if anybody could help as its for a friends daughter who has a birthday coming and am trying to help but I had to turn to the professionals if it is possible Thanks Damian
  5. Thanks for the advise had to hear it from the masters of the group! Damian
  6. Travis do we have to worry about copywrite with using patterns made by members here. I tried to get permission from a member and am not getting no feedback so do I use the pattern or leave it. Around the corner
  7. Thanks all I like the challenges all scrolling projects take . Always helps when you have a group of scrollers always lending a hand and great ideas like a big family!
  8. Well thanks to Paul (Grampa) with his expertise on pattern making and getting me a great start to get this portrait done in a short time.We had little detail from a black and white obituary card that it seemed almost impossible but it turned out great, I added some detail of what I could see in front of me on the picture which kinda added to it.I think the couple will be happy. The couple or parents of this girl ,well it made me want to do it as both of them every weekend on a Fri night go out to the homeless and drug addicts and prostitutes and give out coffee and a sandwich to them and pray for them.Well anyway while they are doing that this girl would stay at the campground office and watch the office etc.And when she started school in another province she would come home at thanksgiving and drive back to make a long story short she never made it to her boarding school, she fell asleep at the wheel and rolled on thanksgiving .That is why I call it Broken dreams and I had to do this for them cause I wouldnt want this for anyone. Thanks for reading this story and my hat goes off to Grampa for helping me make it happen . Damian
  9. Thanks all who tried this site I have 75 percent done and have used Grampas pattern for the project.I have to glue it together and will display it this week .Damian
  10. Thank you very much Grampa (Paul) you saved me a week of trying what a professional you are! The parents will loose it when I get this done and Ill send ya a shot of this beautiful girl tragically lost in a rollover on thanksgiving awhile back thanks again I can't say enough for ya. Damian
  11. Thanks but I'll try myself thanks for trying. Dian

  15. I have been away for awhile at the camper for most of the summer. I have a request to see if somebody can do this in a short time for a friend of mine who lost their daughter in a roll over at last years thanksgiving. It takes me forever to get a pattern and if anybody is willing to get me a pattern so I can try to get it done very soon would be helpful Its kind of dark so I dont know if it can be done but its worth a try DamianFaith_NEW.pdf
  16. Nice of you to give it to a mail carrier. He or she will treasure that for life. I know one and very often their job is thankless dealing with all the elements outside so someone like you will make their day. Well done Dick
  17. Thanks all and thanks Len for the advise on the steering wheel, I didn't know that and wouldn't take much to glue it solid for safety
  18. Yes Paul the wife wonders what I have been doing the last few days in the garage! Like the song goes just a swingin. Lol
  19. Thanks for all the kind words I haven't given it to him yet as it's still wet and I have mde a set of wheels to put under the tractor to pull him around outside. The rocker is designed to come off and the wheel assembly slides under that way it can be used in and out with a exterior paint. The tractor is so strong with screws and glue that it could hold a adult if you had short legs and wanted to be. A kid again. Lol
  20. Well after about 40 hours in the shop measuring and cutting. Then installing pieces ,piece by piece.I have finally got it painted and ready for my grandson to rock the floor. This job I thought was going to be easy but soon learned that I needed every tool in my garage.I spoke to a man in the US that used to sell them but got out of it as he said he wasnt making enough..He was charging 250 but he said it should of been alot more and he said youl see and he was right, to sell these a guy would have to double that but for my grandson my hours dont count as Im sure he will enjoy it as much as fun I had making it.The plans I got had a stationary steering wheel but I changed that so he can turn the wheel to make it more realistic. This was the biggest toy I have ever made and was a great project all around.I think all its missing now is a horn! The color in some spots is alittle lighter right now as is wet and drying so will be darker in a day or so
  21. I am three quaters done working on a John Deer tractor rocker for my grandson, should be done in a few days. Pattern from Windfield collection. This project was a real challenge using every woodworking tool in my shop,
  22. I think Travis should assign you a name scrollsaw king Boy you sure can fire them out. Good job man nobody can top that production! Damian
  23. Very well done did you design that yourself or is there someone who sells it or you would not coment at all
  24. I think Travis is right in locking the pattern site only to members only . Leaving it the way it is will only bring on more theft of patterns and who needs that when hours are spent designing them .Some people have more nerve.
  25. I find that rubbing parafin wax on both sides of the blade helps.Try that hope it helps!
