  1. On those tight spots try going down to a 2/0 spiral, and slow down your movement let the blade 'flow'. The #3 spirals are pretty thick, especially compared to a flat blade.
  2. I gave it my best. You may not want to cur all that brick. Good Luck
  3. I ran the picture through a couple of filters and came up with this. Obviously no where near ready to cut, but it will give you an idea of the silhouette. From here you could make it as detailed as you want or simplify it. Let me know and i'd be glad to help you out. ChurchWithAddition - small (2).bmp
  4. yes. It takes pin or pinless blades.
  5. If you're just starting out you can't go wrong with the Porter Cable around $200 new. I used one for 3 years before upgrading and found it to be a decent saw without spending a lot of money.
  6. Yeah, you're on the right track. I use a heat gun and gently peel the pattern back. Sometimes there's a little glue residue, but that sands off easily enough.
  7. Janine2.jpg.cf4cd181ecfc79d7586429e854c74707.xcf I gave it a shot. There is a lot of detail here. I don't know if that's what you like.
  8. I've fortunately been able to spend some time in the workshop. I'm doing a series of this type to include a zebra and an elephant. Hopefully this is the first of many. Mt wife is busy making masks and they've been a huge hit.
  9. Thanks all. I used a 3/0 spiral(which seems to be my go to blade) for the entire pattern. Didn't like them at first, but rarely use anything else. They're great for detail. 1/8" Baltic birch stack of 2. I wouldn't bet on that dragonfly getting away.LOL.
  10. Since i'm stuck in the house. I can at least cut fishing patterns.
  11. Thanks, I have all of Steve Good patterns, but I've seen a few others through google and am looking for patterns for them without copyright issues
  12. Just recently started cutting Steve Goods stick people and i'm having a blast. I was wondering if anyone has a source for other scroll saw stick people such as the bicycle and archer that i've seen on google. Thanks
  13. I gave it a shot. Hard to get too much 'close up detail".
