Purple Heart - Combat Wounded Veteran Sign
Kris Martinson replied to Kris Martinson's topic in Bragging Rights
I made the pattern from a similar looking project I saw online somewhere. I added some lettering and made it scroll saw ready. Here it is if you want to use it. -
Purple Heart - Combat Wounded Veteran Sign. I did not serve in the military. I have a great appreciation to all those who did serve, so I cut this to show thankfulness to them.

I finished cutting this wood-art piece on my scroll saw today. 1200 cuts. What was I thinking when I started this monster? Depicts an old mining town and railroad.

Thank you for posting this very important message. I hope that everyone working with dust-making projects pays careful attention to the health problems that dust can cause. Emphysema and obstructive pulmonary disease are extremely debilitating. What dust mask are you using, and where do you purchase it?

I made this for my wife. She has always wanted a moose wood-art piece. When I ran across a great painting of one, I knew that I had found the right one for her.

Thanks for your kind comments. In reply to your questions: Cutting took much longer. 11x14x1/8 inches. Baltic birch plywood. Pegas #1 and 2 Spirals. Welcome to an amazing hobby. You are certainly in the right place at SSV to learn and grow. Kris

Where are you all buying your Baltic Birch plywood?

I cut this back-lit scroll saw wood-art today. A bit of pre-halloweeen fun to put in our front door's window on October 31! This is the largest piece I've ever cut on a scroll saw, coming in at about 21 x 14 inches.
