I just finished cutting this backlit scroll saw picture. A little late for Halloween but oh well. This one will go up in my Voodoo Lounge.

I was introduced to fishing by my grandparents, and I still love it. I got to teach my own grandson to fish, and it is an absolute joy to spend time with him out fishing at a nearby lake.

Two projects commissioned by a friend
Kris Martinson replied to Kris Martinson's topic in Bragging Rights
The emblem is intarsia. I know what you mean about getting in and out of sports cars. They are not my friends anymore. -

A friend of mine asked me to make these for him. The barber sign was for him to give his own barber as a retirement gift.

Sorry it took me so long to acknowledge your birthday wishes. I just now was notified of them. -
Drafting the Declaration of Independence
Kris Martinson replied to Kris Martinson's topic in Bragging Rights
I did the fine lines in the lettering VERY carefully. I used Pegas 2/0 spiral blades (they are the thinnest I can find) and I turn the speed down to the slowest setting on my saw.- 16 replies

I cut this one for our upcoming Fourth of July. Picture depicts Benjamin Franklin, John Adams and Thomas Jefferson drafting the Declaration of Independence. Our founding fathers had incredible courage.

I just cut this. I found a piece of wood with grain that looked just right. I want to donate this to a local charity to sell. Those of you who sell your work, please tell me what price you would ask for this.

I got back to my scroll saw art after a month break to work on other projects. I made this one for my wife, Leslie, because she taught me to love nature.
-
Amazing work. I love the subjects you chose. How thick are these pieces?

I've done no Charles Dearing patterns, but I make my own, sometimes from his inspiration. I have done 50+ portraits and I use Pegas 2/0 spirals exclusively. Once you get used to spirals, they allow so much versatility.
