I cut this one for our upcoming Fourth of July. Picture depicts Benjamin Franklin, John Adams and Thomas Jefferson drafting the Declaration of Independence. Our founding fathers had incredible courage.

I just cut this. I found a piece of wood with grain that looked just right. I want to donate this to a local charity to sell. Those of you who sell your work, please tell me what price you would ask for this.

I got back to my scroll saw art after a month break to work on other projects. I made this one for my wife, Leslie, because she taught me to love nature.

Amazing work. I love the subjects you chose. How thick are these pieces?

I've done no Charles Dearing patterns, but I make my own, sometimes from his inspiration. I have done 50+ portraits and I use Pegas 2/0 spirals exclusively. Once you get used to spirals, they allow so much versatility.

It wasn't really that tough to cut. Just like scrolling but with a hand-held saw. Making the frame, backing, lighting, and stand was the tough part.

Something different that I made most recently at the request of my lead pastor, who wanted a modern-art piece depicting the Annunciation of the birth of our Lord. Too large to cut on a scroll saw, so I used a jigsaw to cut the entire picture. Then I backlit it with an LED light strip. It measures 4' x 3'. It will be used as a display at our church's Christmas Eve Walk-through Event.

Rick, you made the point, exactly. I believe my skills are a gift of God, and are meant to help others. I am honored to provide aid by the glory of our Creator.

Thank you all for your nice comments. Some of you have asked me to post the patterns for these here in SSV, so I will do so. When I am asked for my patterns by people on Facebook, I tell them to contribute (any amount they choose) to a good charity and then just let me know. Then I send them the pattern they request. I don't want to profit from my work, except to have it somehow enrich someone in need. So, please, if you use someone's free pattern that you would otherwise have to purchase, consider sending a contribution to a worthy charity. God bless you all! Kris Martinson

I used two different stains on the same piece of wood to get the divine light effect on the Gethsemane pic.

I made the pattern.
