  1. Got them today's mail. Don't know how you get such good service from USPS.
  2. @Denny Knappen Just sent you an order. Don't be in a hurry to get it shipped. I am not in a hurry . Enjoy the weekend with your family. Thanks Larry
  3. They have stopper blanks that measure 1.5 x1.5x3 inches. They work great .
  4. If you look close you will see a dowel rod with an open hook in the end. This works well for me.
  5. Well I went out to the shop s couple of weeks ago and fired up the 25 year old Delta saw. It went ooooooh and refused to move. So I figured that was a good reason to buy a new saw. I really think a good clean and lube will fix the Delta but always good to have a backup right. Here are my thoughts on the Bauer saw. 1 it's heavy. 2 it seems solid. 3 straight out of the box I sat it on top of an old sewing machine cabinet. I adjusted the table about 0.5 degrees to get square. The top arm was .002 inches closer to the table at the back than front. Figured that was close enough for government work. With the saw just sitting on the cabinet not bolted ,clamped or attached in any way it seems very smooth. Don't think it would papp the nickel test but after attaching it to something solid I have no doubt that it will. Decided to try it out. Cut a few of the Diana Thompson bird houses. After a lot of foul language and threat's of return I realized I had the blade upside down. I cut 2 poplar, 1 Cedar and 1 from the Spectra plywood stopper blanks. I am very satisfied with the performance of the saw Not sure how the longevity will be but I bought the 2 year warranty. The way that works use it 2 years take it back renew the warranty and you get a new machine every 2 years for less than $50.00. Bird houses are straight off the saw. No sanding or anything. All were cut with a #7 skip tooth Denny special blade.
  6. Haven't been around much lately. Just wanted to drop in and say HI. I retired 3 years ago for the first time thinking I had it made. I have returned to work 3 times in that time period. A few health setbacks and inheritance of 4 of our grandchildren has really consumed most of my time for the last year. Hope to spend more time at the saw and in the village soon. Thanks for reading.
  7. Congratulations but don't bet on retirement. I have retired 3 times in the last three years. In my profession there is such a shortage of licensed people I have gone back to work each time . I have made a commitment this time to train 2 new people if my health holds out. That is a 2 year project. What ever you do enjoy it.
  8. I just ordered 2 boxes of them. I have orders that I am to make each child and grand child a set of them for Christmas next year
  9. I had an engineering firm next to where I worked. I would take the pull outs from the Magazine to them and they would copy them for me. That way I have copies to cut up to scan in and also have the originals. They will also do this at a vocational school that has a drafting class.
  10. Dave Are they split to a flat back that attaches to the board or left complete?
  11. My son is in Crosville TN and was showing me some saws on market place around his area. I know this would be a little far for you bet there were a couple of looks like new Wen for less that $100.00. My point is there are good starter saws out there for reasonable money. Don't rush.
  12. Got my copy. Thanks to all that participated. As always our donations go to the area food banks and animal shelters,
  13. I absolutely love that. Yes I also fit in that category.
  14. I I ordered those last fall. The 4ah from home Depot seem to last as long as these do. Not saying their crap but something don't seem right with them.
  15. Good to see you back. Hope you are feeling better.
  16. Is the pattern available? If so from where.
  17. I will also add that if your shop is unheated the batteries do not cherge well in cold temps.
  18. I have no experiance with the Harbor Freight Brand. I do own both Dewalt and Craftsman tools. Some are brushless some not. As has been said the brushless seem to get more run time per battery. I have adapters to be able to interchange the battery platforms. I have also ordered adapters to convert all my old 18v Dewalt to the 20 v batteries. They work great, more power and run time that with the 18v. If you can wait until black Friday / Christmas time Dewalt always runs a special buy 2 batteries and charger get a tool free. I bought 2 4ah batteries and chargers for about 129.00 got the jig saw free. The Angle grinder was an option but I already had the Craftsman. I got into the Craftsman line because my wife wanted a cordless light weight weed eater. We now also have the hedge trimmer, limb saw, leaf blower, angle grinder and and drill. She has also hinted that she wants th R/O sander that they have. I am not the only tool junkie in our family. If you decide on the Harbor freight I would be very interested in your thoughts. They make adapters to be able to use the Dewalt batteries for the H/F tools. I my experience make sure that you get at least a 4 ah battery for anything except a drill.
  19. Perfect
  20. Hey Don Any chance you could take the top one and put the name NORNA inside the ornament? Yes that is the correct spelling. She gits called Norma a lot. Thanks in advance Larry
  21. Beautiful.
  22. Thanks Guys . I guess I must have Man looked as my Wife calls it at steves site. This would be great but use small spools of thread instead of Kisses,
  23. Hey Guys. I need help finding some patterns. My wife is finally getting to set up her sewing shop. She wants to do a Christmas tree this year for it. I seem to remember seeing some ornament patterns of sewing machines, thread spools etc. If anyone can point me in the right direction or has any that you can share I will be ever grateful and you would make a sweet Grandmother very happy. Thanks Larry
  24. Seems like I experience a lot of the Mega hertz lately. Does that make me FM?
