  1. Maybe the new Hegner will have its own dust extractor fitted. I find it works great.
  2. Hi Dick, I wish it was my imagination. I recently come across a piece of work by Fiona Kingdon of a fish jumping out of a knotted area and thought that is amazing, next thing I know I am destroying a piece of wood. Hi Paul, You are correct, the line should be in front too. That would make a great transition from a slither of wood to a cut. All the best, Paul
  3. Hi Les, Thank you for your comment. I do enjoy making the vids. It is nice to look back at old projects. All the best, Paul.
  4. Great pattern from Steve good. I planed the Oak down to 12mm. I used Olsen 2/0 and No5 blades. The Danish oil from rustins gives a fantastic warm colour to the Oak. Part 2 coming soon.
  5. Very true Bob, I am going to cut in a new piece of Cedar at the offending part. I will post the result if it works out.
  6. Thank you Les.
  7. Hi All, This is a pattern by Grampa Wood is Cedar of Lebanon. I planed it down to 6mm. The smell from this wood is amazing. I used a Olsen 2/0 blade for the pattern changing to a No5 for the fishing line. It is a great pattern but I managed to mess it up.
  8. Thanks for the heads up. Here is the direct link. https://www.fionakingdon.com/scrollsaw-patterns
  9. Hi Steve, That is the plan with the planer, I'm fed up with looking for the right thickness, I will buy near to depth and plane the rest. I have found a place that has some amazing wood and reasonable prices, I hope to visit next Tuesday. Thanks for the show info mate. All the best, Paul.
  10. Hi Steve, That is a good idea. I should visit a few shows myself. Apart from Harrogate are there other shows that have a good supply of interesting off cuts? Cheers, Paul.
  11. Hi RJF, I have read that too. If the in-feed out-feed mod doesn't work I will give that a try. To be honest it is not a big problem for scroll saw work.
  12. Hi Steve, I was going to order from them some European Oak but the shipping costs are crazy. But still good to know if they are local. I have been told about another good supplier from eBay. The name is windinghouse66. He has some very nice off cuts. Cheers, Paul.
  13. Hi Brenda, I have found it very difficult to source thin wood in the UK for scroll saw work so I decided to get a planer. I have only just got it but I think it will be a very useful bit of kit. Here is my first test. I have been informed that feint lines at the end of the piece is called snipe. There are few ways to stop this happening and I will try lifting the in and out trays slightly.
  14. Hi Mahendra, That looks amazing. Thank you for your time spent on this. I will cut soon
  15. Actually Mahendra, I like this one with the American flag in the background. But I will be happy with whatever you choose.:-))
  16. Hi Mahendra, I love your pattern style, so I am looking forward to seeing what you come up with. .
  17. Hi All, Would someone be kind enough to turn this picture into a simple pattern.
  18. You must of taking the lid of the glue to get that amount of glue spillage. Take care and all the best.
  19. Hi Alex, An enjoyable pattern to cut. All the best, Paul.
  20. Hi All, As you all know Alex produces amazing patterns. I got the compass pattern and requested different letters on the compass points. I follow a sailing channel on youtube and the guy's motto is. No B******t Just Sailing. So I wanted the N B J S on the four points. Big thanks to Alex for a great pattern . 21. That is an amazing piece of work.
  22. Cheers Les.
  23. Hi Smudger. Thanks for the comment. I bought the lights a long time ago and cannot remember where from, here is a link to the same lights. I have them in 20 lights to the string. For this project I cut them down so only 4 LED's are being used. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/20-30-100-LED-Battery-Micro-Rice-Wire-Copper-Fairy-String-Lights-Party-White-/192622597622
  24. Happy Easter everyone. This is a Steve Goode pattern. I used 6mm Birch ply and 3mm Walnut.
