  1. Id be pressed to do it in a month
  2. I just use brad nails in a bunch of the waste areas and this always holds it together nice and tight, just be sure to have at least two in the last waste area so it doesnt pivot
  3. I was wondering what all of you professional scrollers out there use for a finish on portraits. I have mainly been using polyurethane but kind of want to try BLO but im not sure if that would look good on a portrait. Thanks! -Joe
  4. my local menards sells 2'x4' pieces of 1/4" birch for only about $7 and thats mainly what I use for portraits and such, I usually stack 2-3 and cut them all at once. also buy quality blades such as olsen or flying dutchman, they will make a HUGE difference as to how your saw cuts
  5. I have the new craftsman and is the only saw I have used but I certainly love it. For $120 you cant really go wrong, only thing i changed was put thumb screws in instead of the ones that need the allen wrench. If it is for light use I would certainly suggest it as I have had it for over a year and it hasnt given me any problems yet
  6. I mostly use olsen blades because they are easily available to me, whenever I buy blades I have never really paid any attention to tpi but maybe I should I have never really found that very important, I mostly use #2 and #5 blades and sometimes larger for thick wood, Another reason you could be breaking blades is if the wood you are using is too thick, I mainly use 1/8inch to 3/4 inch any thicker than that tends to be hard to cut
  7. I use olsen blades that menards sell, easier than ordering online
  8. That would looks great with a small browning logo cut out and then made into a keychain, I have some antlers laying around but never thought about cutting them up, idk if Id be able to do that
  9. glad you were able to get some free wood, please share what you make!

As for what sparkey said, I read somewhere that iif you tighten the bolt that he mentoned it will where the inside bearings out faster
