Nice job on all of that. I also like that inlay. I'm just learning how to do inlay now. Just finished my second piece. I would love to give yours a try. Is there a pattern for that. Did you do your angle just around the outside and straight cuts for the rest.
Looking good. Don't see any mistakes. I'm a retired firefighter from Waterbury and I made a few of those with Waterbury init of course. One of them I painted red. Look good in red.
Well I finally got up enough nerve to try to do an inlay. This is Steve Goods pattern. I used walnut and maple and birch. I set the saw at 3%. Started at 2 then two and a half and finally 3. Fit pretty good. Now I have to try something a little harder. Trying to figure out how to get different colors of wood in the pattern. Not sure if I have to stack all the different color wood together for each separate piece.
Thanks, Charley for all that info. I always have trouble cutting reindeer out. I cut 3D ornaments with no problem but reindeer gives me trouble. I will try again with all the info all you guys left. Thanks.
John, that looks good. The dark backer brings it all out. That's a good tip, putting the blade in backwards. I have a 21 inch excal, so I haven't had that problem yet.
WoW Jim, fantastic. I love Mickey. I'm going to try and do a small piece of inlay and see how I do. I've never done inlay before but love to try. Is there a pattern for that.
Nice cutting on those stars Kevin. I find that there a pain in the butt to cut out good. You did perfect. I might have to come visit you and get some tips.
