  1. Ron, those came out fantastic. You did a great job on the finish also. I didn't know you could hand rub tung oil that good. I,ll have to look into those and see if I can do that.
  2. Mike, This was the first delicate piece I cut with the saw. I did do a fire engine puzzle to. My spare saw now is my DeWalt 788. I have to say, I like this saw a lot better but I did do some great stuff with my 788. This is so quite and the blade change is so easy and quick.
  3. Hi everyone. Well I finally got up the nerve to try this pattern out on my new Excalibur saw. I had the pattern for a couple of months and kept looking at it. It's one of Fish's patterns and it's made out of 1/4 inch B/B. I used a 64 drill bit and #1 blade for the whole thing. I just have to put a frame around it yet because this measures 8 1/2 x 12. There are a couple of minor mistakes but I won't point them out. LOL. Well I hope you all like it and advice is welcome.
  4. Good for you John. Keep on rolling.
  5. Those came out great Dan. I love the food coloring idea. I'll have to writ that all down. Do you make your own patterns and can I do something like that with Steve Goods Pattern maker.
  6. Thanks guys.
  7. Here's a couple of things I did with my new Excalibur saw. The Jesus one with the square back is 3/4 Oak and it cut that pretty easy with a #3 blade. The pattern was done for me by Jay. He shrunk it down for me. I put a stained glass backing on them to add a little different look. I think Jays are still a little better than mine. The actual designs were done on my DeWalt 788. They were really tough to do. I almost gave up a few times on them. The fire truck pattern was done for me by Brian from Pickens Puzzles. He gave me some good tips. The puzzle is 3/4 Oak and was cut with a #3 blade to except for the inner designs of the puzzle which I used a #1 blade. Very small hole. They still need another coat of poly. So far I like my new saw. Very quite and very easy to change blades. Put the blade in and pull the lever back and your done.
  8. Well I finally received my Excalibur 21 inch saw around 9pm last night. I stayed up and put the stand together and this morning put the saw on it. Of course I had to try it out. After adjusting blade aliment which was off a little, I started sawing. The saw is very quite and runs very smooth. I figured I would start with something hard like Oak. I cut out a puzzle with a # 3 blade and a #1. Very easy to cut compared to my DeWalt 788. The only thing I don't like to much is the on and off switch which is a little tricky to turn on and off. I just hooked up the foot switch which came with the saw and I will give that a try. The best part is changing the blade and adjusting the tension. Just put the blade in and pull the lever back to lock it and your done. Doesn't get any easier than that. When I'm done with the pieces I did, I'll put a pic of them on. So far I like it very much. It is a big saw.
  9. Hi everyone, hope everyone had a nice New Year. Well I finally broke down and ordered a new Excalibur 21 inch saw from Seyco. Haven't received it yet but I'm hoping by this week. Can't wait to use it in combination with my DeWalt788. Not sure if I'm going to use the stand yet. have to see if it will fit on my work bench.
  10. Frank, your braver than me. I'm still a little leery about using them. I tried a few different cuts but can't seem to get the hang of it yet. Maybe some day.
  11. Looks great. I might have to try that one. There's a lot of letters to cut out.
  12. Boy Kris, that came out beautiful. Perfect detail all the way around.
  13. Boy Randy, you got that coin cutting down pretty good. Great designs your coming up with.
  14. Thanks guys, I think Seyco is where I will go.
  15. Thanks Terrylee, I was looking at them to.
  16. Hi everyone. Well I'm thinking about getting another saw. This time I'm going all out with the Excalibur 21 inch. Ive seen them on a lot of different sites for $899.99 and all come with stand and foot switch. My question is, does it matter where I buy this from and are they all the same. I've seem some that are all black frame and some that are green. Any difference. feedback welcome. Thanks, Ralph.
  17. Brian, I'm a retired firefighter and I think you did a great job. I was an engine man so I would have to go with the dalmatian one but both are great. I would love to make those if you have the patterns to sell. Thanks, Ralph.
  18. Those are different. Great job.
  19. Hang in there Kevin. Slow and steady.
  20. Nice Jerry. Glitter looks great. I know glitter can be a pain in the you know where. I did my xmas ornaments with it so I know. Hate it. LOL.
