    Very nicely done.
  3. It's 15 x 10. I am going to make the next one a little bit larger.
  4. Took some time off after my last winter Crafts Fair. This past weekend I jumped back on the saw and got these done. The Butterfly Cross is a Sue Mey pattern. I'm not sure who designed the 2nd one. I will have to look it up.
  5. My main reason would be more stability for the tight cuts and fret work.
  6. Very nice work. Love the John Wayne Portrait.
  7. I work with 1/4 Walnut for ornaments and such and it works great. No problems at all.
  8. Had a great season even though we had one show cancel at the last minute. We did 4 Crafts Fairs and brought in a little over five thousand for the season. Our best yet even being one short. Still working on some special order but soon I will be able to take a break and then back to work for next year.
  9. The new Hegner was delivered yesterday. It was easy to set up and get going. My first impressions are that it's table is a little smaller than I would like but I can get use to it. The foot pedal is tiny. I'm getting better at the quick release clamp and getting the blade in to it's holders. The release knob is tearing my hand up as the surface is very rough but nothing a glove didn't fix. I tried it out on one of my largest projects and it handled it with ease. Just took longer than usual but that will be fixed when the muscle memory kicks in. The only problem is that the center insert does not line up with the blade and the blade is rubbing/cutting into the right side of it. I cannot for the life of me figure out anyway to adjust the blade back more towards the center. Am I missing something? Otherwise I am very impressed and look forward to cutting more projects out with it.
  10. Very nice set up. I have similar Display panels and I know they can be a pain to haul around. Good job.
  11. Sounds like you have your Hands full. Welcome back Joe.
  12. Nice to have you here Steve. Post lots of pictures.
  13. I finally had to break down and get another saw. My EX21 completely died. It had broke the Motor Cam twice and I honestly feel that there was a problem In the Manufacturing. My Jet also is having some issues but still is working at this time. Going to keep it as a back up. I put numerous hours on these machines and I cut mostly 1/4 inch hardwood to 3/4 inch wood. I don't use plywood so it takes it toll. Most weeks I put 20 to 40 hours on the machines but at this time of year when my sales are way up I'm putting 40 to 60 hrs on it a week. Murphy's Law always kicks in too. If something breaks it is usually right after the Warranty expires right? Anyway I convinced the wife that I needed something substantial so she conceded and the Hegner 22 is on its way. It has a 7 year warranty so hopefully I can count on it to last. I didn't get all the bells and whistles just the quick release blade holder and foot pedal but that's really all I need. I have the light/Mag lamp already plus my dust control system. Won't get here in time to make a difference in my Holiday Sales, delivery date is after the 11th and my last show is the 14th. Looking forward to playing with the new toy.
  14. Congrats. Keep it up.
  15. I had the Motor Cam break into 2 that caused a bad knocking noise. You would know if that's the problem though because the blade would not move up and down.
  16. Thank you. I found a Poplar board with that natural coloring and it worked out great. That's a Charles Dearing design by the way. I have quite a few of his including the John Wayne, the Stage coach and others. Mike Williams is in there as well. Both are great designers.
  17. I believe I got those on Scrolleronline.com. They have a lot of angles.
  18. Love it. Good job.
  19. Did our 2nd show for the season and did pretty good, over $1300. Portraits and Sue Mey crosses were huge. Plus ornaments again. The best part of this was I got an order for 60 $20.00 items. Gonna be busy right up till Christmas.
  20. I work on my inventory thru out the year and I only participate in the Fall/Winter crafts fairs (about 5 of them). I make multiples of my biggest sellers, John Wayne, Word trees, Nativity related items (crosses, ornaments etc.) and some of the Elk Portraits. I try to have a wide variety of items. Things you think would sell well don't and things that you think would be slow sellers fly off the table. Last year I think I sold 1 butterfly cross and this year I sold 5 in the first show.
  21. Thanks for the nice comments. Usually, for me, the first show of the Christmas season is always the best. Mostly because in this area everyone goes to all the shows so after the 1st one they have seen all my stuff. I do have a lot of return customers or people who seek out my booth because they saw what another person had bought.
  22. Here is a picture of the set up. The John Wayne Portrait is by far my best seller. Sue Mey Crosses are popular. I make them out of 3/4 inch Poplar, Cedar, Oak, Aspen, and Walnut (when I can find boards the right size). The 3D Butterfly Cross flew (excuse the pun) off the shelves. I love the cross but hate making it if that makes sense. I also have two different types of ornaments and sell them for 2 for $5 (small) or 1 for $5 (large). They are good as well. This year Portraits are slow but steady.
  23. We did our first show of the season and pulled in over $1500.00. Now I've got a one week break before our next one. I need to rebuild my inventory. I added pictures below in the comment section. Sorry for leaving them out.
  24. Welcome to the group.
