  1. I am new too. I think you did a great job. Is this 1/4 Baltic Brich? what type/size blade did you use? Keep going. It gets better Sam
  2. Don, No offense and thank you for your reply but I am also wondering. Do you mean to lock it so it does not swivel? I am sure the design intention is for the end piece to rotate so when you tighten the clamp (screw) and as the end piece starts pressing on the blade that end piece will stop turning and hence pushes on the blade without damaging the blade (was that confusing????) sorry Sam
  3. Len, Thank you this tip. I will make sure I do that Sam
  4. Don, Did this get clearer after Travis's explanation? again, I'm not the expert. I will try to draw a step by step drawing with multiple diagrams and hope it will help all of us. Thank you sam
  5. Don, I am by no means the expert but I am over this sharp turn hurdle. I will try to explain in my own words: If the blade it not tight enough you will have that problem. Here we go: As you approach the corner make sure you keep cutting until you get the corner, stop feeding the piece and let the bladed go up & down without cutting, pull on the piece gently toward you so now the back of the blade is trying to cut the wood with the back of the blade, now you need to start turning the wood and keep the little pressure on the back of the blade, you need to make that wood behave as if it is pivoting about the back of the blade. these blades actually will twist a little when you are turning the wood but once you stop turning and ready to start the next straight cut, the blade twists back to normal. I hope I didn't confuse this. Please experts, chime in and correct me. Thank you Sam
  6. I looked at their web site and couldn't find their picture inserts
  7. I just bought a few from the WTB. they just came in and they look very classy (just the clock insert but no clocks). I bought the 2" ones and a cut one of Steve Good's patterns which show a 1-7/8 cutout. I must have made the hole a little too small (I don't have any forstner bits). I guess I will have to sand until the clock insert fits snug. Sam
  8. Bernd, I just checked my EX-16 and it DOES HAVE a two-piece clamp. It must swivel. I couldn't turn it with my fingers. It is too smooth to grab. Thank you for the reply Sam
  9. Thank you all for the advice/comments. Bill, I take back my claim (that my clamps do not have a swivel piece). You are absolutely correct. It just looks like it is a one-piece (at least to a 60 year old, WITH GLASSES) thank again. Sam
  10. Hi again, I think I once read a thread talking about swivel end blade clamps for Excalibur. It make a lot of sense for all clamps to have swivel end at where they clamp on the blade. I checked mine and found out that it DOES NOT have swivel end. Excalibur owners, would you please check and let me know. If they do have swivel ends, where can I get them. Thank you all Sam
  11. Jim, Thank you for the Sue Mey link. Steve, Wow, I guess I have never looked at these. Or may be it was too much patterns for me when I first started. Is it fine to make and/or sell finished pieces made from the SSV patterns? Thank you Sam
  12. Hi All, I have not participated much on this great forum most because I have been busy with the job. I am trying to find some Trivet Patterns to buy. I am looking for trivets about 5 to 7". Can anyone suggest a good site or give me a link? Thanks a lot sam
  13. Beautiful elegant looking pieces. Both the pens & the angels. Keep it up, Congrats Sam
  14. Is it fine to retail sell the finished products made with these patterns?
  15. Hi all, Talking about patterns. Thank you to all the pattern designers and contributors on this forum. I don't see why we should only look for free patterns. I just bought a few myself. While we talk about buying patterns, shouldn't the buyer be able to download patterns after he/she pays for it? Am I missing something here? Today I purchased a few patterns from the WTB and expected to download them, but instead I had to pay for shipping first class mail. I guess they send me paper patterns. Is this normal? do all patterns sellers work this way? Thanks Sam
  16. Iggy, Great job, very efficient, nice looking pieces. Some day I would like to be able to dedicate more time to scrollsawing and to this great forum. Like you I have a real full time job and it is taking more hours from me than the average person. Keep up the great work and thank you for sharing. Sam

  18. Lary, You are welcome, I'm glad I was able to help. sam
  19. Hi all, Here is an oval (Ellipses) pattern which can be used as a backer. I used Autocad to draw these. The largest ellipse in this pattern is 8" X 10.5". If anyone would like bigger sizes let me know. Sam ELLIPSES, For 8.5 X 11.pdf
  20. Larry, If all you want is the outline of the oval, tell me the length & width and I will post a few variations of the oval. I use Autocad (& other cad programs). It is a piece of cake to make one. Let me know the size. Sam
  21. Thank you Len, I will check to see if I can download a manual online. Sam
  22. Thank you all for your input. I don't have a manual to look at (I bought mine used). Sam
  23. Hello Group, I am not sure if that this subject has been discussed/answered. I have an EX-16. I have had it for about 5 months now and did a few little projects on it (about 20 hours of cutting). Can someone tell how / where to lub or oil this saw? I would appreciate the help. Thank you Sam
  24. Guys, Where is the pattern? Thanks Sam
