  1. Wow Duke! You sure have been producing the work. They look great.
  2. Marg, Those are way tooo cute.
  3. Those came out great Don. I especially like the music one.
  4. I would love to try a drum sander for doing this.
  5. I do not have a band saw but am considering buying one. Will they cut straight and smooth?
  6. Beautiful boxes!
  7. I use my rip fence on my table saw as a guide. I feel my table saw is adjusted well. Set the blade to just go through the thickness of the side. At times the cut does not match perfectly all the way around.
  8. I make quite a few boxes. Process I use. 1. Miter and glue the sides together. 2. Glue the top and bottom on. 3. Sand the top and bottom flush with the sides. 4. Saw the lid off with my table saw. The problem I have is at times my saw cut is not perfect all the way around. I use my orbital to even it up as good as possible. It doesn't always come out perfect........I always strive for perfection. Any suggestions how I can improve my process is appreciate it.
  9. Jeff, You sure didn't waste any time doing that. Sure came out good.
  10. Kevin, Davis and Wilson have inlays on them.
  11. Monti, That is sure a cool design.
  12. Kris that is super cool.
  13. Great pattern and cutting.
  14. Looks great Brian. It is always fun to try new stuff.
  15. Sasho, That looks great. I have never noticed you doing inlay before. Very nice.
  16. I'm thinking the Wagner is more of the homeowner model and the Titan is Commercial. The Titan has metal cups and the Wagner I believe has plastic.
  17. One thing you might check.........are lacquers available in CA? I've heard that the EPA laws are strict there.
  18. No air compressor. The handle is a turbine that has a cord to plug in.
  19. Ray, I have the Titan Flexspray. I bought the kit at Sherwin Williams about two years ago. The thing I like best about it is that the head and cup comes off the turbin handle. Currently I have five different heads with cups. I keep one for clear, black, red, blue, and white. Those are the main colors I am currently spraying. I can leave the spray in them all the time and I don't have to clean them up unless I want a different color. I might take them apart once every six months and clean them up. I use pre catalysed lacquer that I get from Sherwin Williams. If I want a color I have them tint it or if I want a small amount of a different color I colorant and mix it myself. The Store I deal with gives me great prices. I pay $26 a gallon for lacquer. For the extra cups and guns I pay $60 a piece. It is and expensive setup but I was using about 10 rattle cans a week before I bought It. If it died tomorrow I would buy another one just like it.
  20. If I am glueing something to a stained or painted surface I always use Weldbond glue. This may not pertain to your project. I used to have some problems with Titebond until I started using it.
  21. Ray, I do a lot of finishing.........two years ago I broke down and bought a spray outfit. Now I use lacquer and spray clear or mix it with pigment to get my my colors. I can get any shine I want. Before I got this outfit I would use rattle cans.
  22. Congrats! You deserve a first place.
  23. Kris, Those are super cool. What did you use behind your cutting to disperse the light. If you are going to have a bar in KC when are you going to have time to scroll?
  24. Was the piece glued to a painted surface?
