Travis's tutorials are fantast. As slow as I learn it took a long time and lots of patients. If I run into a single thing that I am trying to do I will go to utube and search for it.
Six months out of the year we live in Justin, TX. If any of you Texans make it close please look me up. Not many have heard of Justin but if you are a Nascar fan ( which I'm not) I live a couple miles from Texas Motor Speedway.
I have to say that I had to copy Jim Flinn and make a cedar inlaid trinket box. I can't compete with him but I am happy with it. Sure different doing an inlay in cedar compared to hardwoods like I'm used to. I'm used to making them tight and tapping them in. Cedar splits super easy. Took me a couple of tries.
Before I bought my Hegner I went to Woodcraft to see a King. They would not let me try it out or take it back if I was not happy with it. I called King to ask them about the warranty. The customer service guy that answered the phone wasn't even aware that it was sold in the US. He told me that any questions I had I would have to send an email. The whole thing turned me off.
Thanks to all or you for your nice comments. The part that is sad to me is................I do a farmers market every Saturday morning first of May until the first of October.........I sell a ton of stuff in the $20-$30 range. It is very hard for me sell the kind of stuff like this plaque.
